Kim (LetsGiveItASpin) Hultman started his gambling journey quite early in his life. Already in his late teens, he started playing poker, mainly Texas Hold'em.

After playing poker from 2006 to 2012, he began studying at the University of Halmstad, where he earned a master’s degree in business and economics, with a focus on bank auditing.

In 2015, during his studies, Kim and some friends used to play online slot machines. After a big win in which Kim was over-the-top celebrating, his friend suggested he start streaming. Said and done, Kim started sharing his gambling experience with friends on Twitch in November 2015.

Together with local friends and others from his Twitch community, he started CasinoGrounds.com, a casino community focused on real-money casino streaming and big-win highlights. Kim is known to always have used his own and real money to gamble and has been vocal against streamers using "fake money".

With the creation and expansion of casinogrounds.com, Kim's reputation grew exponentially, and soon, "LetsGiveItASpin" became synonymous with "Real Casino Streaming" and "Responsible Gambling", one of the best online gambling communities in Europe.

Interview with a Casino Streamer

Where did your experience with gambling start?

It started in 2006 when my friends and I played poker. We started in freerolls, and most won a few bucks, then stopped. But I saw potential to make a lot of money playing poker, so I decided to learn more and study the game.

How was your first experience?

My first poker experience was winning a few cents on Everest Poker sit-and-go freerolls, then losing it back. After a few tries,, I realised many players were just playing way too many hands, so I decided to play very tight. Back then, it was as easy as that.

When you and your partners founded CasinoGrounds, what was the main motivator?

The main motivator was to create a community for real-money casino streamers. Unfortunately, they started appearing very early on Twitch, and we wanted a community where viewers knew they were watching real money and real wins.

Do you feel being part of such a tightly knit gambling community like CasinoGrounds has had a positive or negative impact on your gambling habits?

I think it has a positive impact, I don't gamble that much off-stream anymore as I much rather gamble on stream with friends. I also feel it's great for viewers to be able to talk openly about gambling. In many countries, especially Sweden, where I'm from, people just don't talk about gambling that much and most have a very negative view if you tell them you like to play slots. It's kind of a taboo even to mention luck-based gambling.

Tell us your favourite gambling-related story.

My favourite gambling moment was probably in Las Vegas, when we celebrated 100,000 subscribers and had $5,000 left, from which we managed to win $335,000. I've almost never won on roulette in my life, and I always said one time in my life I'll win really big on roulette, and it couldn't have happened at a better time.

Another great memory was playing High Stakes Poker. As someone who grew up during the poker boom, I watched all the seasons of the show, and sitting at the same table as Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius, and many more was like a dream come true.

Are you working on anything now? Can we expect to see you more on stream moving forward?

Haha, I'm always working on some fun projects. Aside from streaming, I really enjoy creating slots, which is something we've started doing quite a bit of recently. I will definitely be more on stream going forward, and hopefully we can have some really fun and profitable sessions!
