I usually say take responsibility for your own actions but this is too much , the average salary in UK is around £35k per year . £43, 000 deposits in 30 mins during midnight looks like one hell of a drunk session, I wonder how the bank didn't block your transaction .

Not a expert of UKGC regulations so can't advice but give  it a try Go through the link which was provided by @vanHooff

That’s not what I am saying at all. But do you think it’s responsible for an online casino to let me deposit that amount of money without verification process completed? It’s not about the money it’s about the correct procedures which clearly aren’t in place at Ladbrokes
They should have blocked your account as soon as you deposited over 1k with no verification, but you will struggle to get anything back as like I said if you had won they would have paid out after kyc checks.

I was looking through my bank statements from last year and checking the amounts with the online casinos I played at. I just couldn’t believe that I was allowed to deposit 4 times to the amount off £43,000 I just think it’s completely irresponsible from Ladbrokes whether I would get my money back or not I believe they should be fined for this regardless.

there is no way on earth you could deposit this amount in a land base casino without many check first and most online casinos it’s around £2,000 deposits then they will block you account till source of funds is completed

I wish you the best of luck but I dont think you will get the money back.. you could report them to the gambling commission and they will recieve a fine potentially... but still unlikely you will get a refund.

But good  luck and keep us updated

Take care

Much love

@vanHooffit works a bit different in a land based casino.
if a customer comes in and wants to use his debit card to withdraw money, for gaming, they have to set a limit. Limit can’t be adjusted the first visit.

default limit is £250 for a new customer.

Anything above requires manager interaction and safer gambling conversation - can approve up to £50k

Anything above that needs a higher ranked managers approval.

Limits vary from casino to casino depending on their in house procedures and just apply to debit facility.

If a new customer comes in with a duffel bag with £100k cash in it, well, that’s different - can do whatever they want with it unless some suspicion is aroused.

Back to debit cards - if the customer has an existing credit file with another casino within the same group then that can be referenced when considering the limits.

What this all means for the OP, I’m not sure as online will handle things differently.

If it was one deposit of £43k the casino can justify allowing you to play, the same way they could if it was £2001 or £2500, or any number over the threshold. They can just say that the deposit flagged the account as needing verification to be done ASAP but without wanting to inconvenience the customers play.

If it was multiple deposits then they have no justification for not requesting that you verify after the first, possible that they could allow you a second deposit, maaaaybe a third deposit. Allowing a forth deposit, when each deposit is over the verification threshold, would be very difficult for them to justify to the UKGC.

You have a good case I think. Case would be very strong if, after depositing and losing this money, they never requested any verification from you. Check and see,  in the year that has passed AFTER losing all this money, have they requested you verify.

If they never requested verification at any point afterwards, well, I can’t see how they can justify that to the UKGC.

My two cents.

Share what their response is, be careful to blank out you name and the name of the person corresponding with you. Regardless of the situation you should be careful not to publish personal details without explicit permission.

Put in a claim because they owe you 41,000. They are only allowed to take 2000 in deposits before requiring verification. You should have no problem getting your money back from this reckless company

Nothing to see here , you lost the money , reckless , careless , it don't matter , nobody forced you to play ,  its your own fault and you have zero chance of getting any kind of result. sorry     😞

@Andrew Stothard Did you hear anything from ladbrokes mate ?  There is also a law firm in UK , who specializes in online gambling , they also have no win no fees policy , can't remember the name but they are recommend by the POGG . Google it you will find them and talk to them about if you could get your deposits back

Well he could try mate , the same way every casino try not to pay the legitimate massive wins by using the legal loopholes like unsatisfied SOW , AML regulations,  bonus abuse etc etc ... Don't be showing any mercy on casinos they are always looking for the legal loophole to not to pay the massive winnings ... We have a  guy here who is waiting for his £50,000 withdrawal for months from NYSPINS who are UKGC licensed   even after he submitted everything he could ...

Casinos using legal loopholes to avoid paying so why not players do the same ... Let's all just go by the rules

OP may not be entitled for refund which I don't know but ladbrokes won't like OP taking the legal route because that might result in ladbrokes paying much more as a fine .

Below is the statement by UKGC when they issued £13m penalty to casears entertainment.

By the looks of it he might actually have a good case, I know he hasn't been responsible and that makes me not want to care but thinking about it, rules are rules and have to be adhered to for everyone including the casino, maybe I'm a littl jealous as he wasted so much money, money I could only ever dream of lol
