Ladbrokes forced 5 year self exclusion on me, because i made them disable fruit machines on their POKER APP i downloaded.

Ladbrokes forced a self exclusion on me- because i forced them to disable the side games on their poker app. They were the only POKER site online that refused to offer players the option to disable slot machines (side games) on their Poker app. They told me, like they tell all customers still today, that it was impossible to disable side games. They were wrong and i contacted IPOKER as well to get them to contact Ladbrokes and tell them that if i wanted the fruit machines disabled, i was allowed to have them disabled as the poker app and the IPOKER network they used did NOT state anywhere when downloading the app, that i had to have fruit machines enabled on the POKER app at all times.. (i was playing poker full time grinder). I wanted the games disabled, because i could spend 12 hours per day logged into the POKER app, meaning i had the temptation 12 hours per day to play the pretty looking games with flashing lights. I love the odd gamble, but i like to choose games option on their site or casino, log in for an hour or so... have a wee gamble, then log out. I thought enough is enough, every poker app i played on had the option to disable side games, including their sister sites PP (just bought coral and ladbrokes) and Coral. Coral poker has a botton next to side games to disable the games from sight. Ladbrokes are part of the coral ltd group!!  I love playing fruit machines, too... so i'm far from against them in any way. My problem was, Ladbrokes kept offering me free spins on these games, leading to me spending more and more money on fruit machines, when i logged into the POKER APP that i downloaded with no mention of the fact fruit machines were actually on the app. Fair enough when i got there and could see the games were on the poker app, almost all ipoker network poker apps will have them... my problem with Ladbrokes was they were the only site online that refused me permission to disable these games on an app i had open 12 hours per day, as a poker player and grinder on tournaments. Can anyone offer me any good advice? Can i challenge the forced exclusion (that shows up as self exclusion, even though i didn't request it) from Ladbrokes, as i now can't use sister companies like Party Poker or Coral. I find it totally unfair. The games on Ladbrokes were disabled for me, and as far as i am aware, i am the only customer that has every forced Ladbrokes to disable side games on their poker app. "15minutes later", after i logged in to see the games now disabled, i was banned with forced self exclusion for 5 years, the max they could ban me for. Then i noticed i couldn't place sports bets on Coral bookmakers and couldn't log into PARTY POKER lol, because they had just bought Coral/ Ladbrokes ltd - ffs.I think i might actually take this all the way here, if i can. I will do it for myself and other POKER playeres they are telling lies to. No online betting company should force me to look at fruit machines 12 hours per day and "HAVE TO RECEIVE FREE SPIN OFFERS, WITH NO OPTION TO DISABLE THE GAMES AND OFFERS BEING MADE" , just because they advertised a POKER APP to me to download and play POKER on it. Notice i keep using CAPS for the word POKER. I am doing this because POKER on the ladbrokes site is a totally different option on their main page than casino, games, sports and bingo. The option i chose to download was the POKER APP.Do i have a case to take this all the way here against a site that had (whistle blowers) come out from management jobs within the company to express their disgust at the way they target sports/horse betting players and poker players with free spins and offers to try and get them play FOBT fruit machines, knowing there was a chance they could get these people addicted to the games, when they wouldn't have even put a penny in them to start with, as they were sports betters only. This scumbag company are still telling POKER players that chose to download the POKER APP there is no way to disable the side games on the poker app, which i tested by phoning just now. I told them they were wrong and i got the side games disabled. They asked me how- and i explained i spent 3 or 4 weeks emailing them and the Ipoker network to force Ladbrokes to allow me to  disable the games. The call handler told me i was talking s#it basically and said like the robot she was, that it is impossible to disable the fruit machines on the POKER APP lol. I can prove i got the games disabled. I can prove that after emailing them several times asking them to disable these games that they offered me free spins on them , at least twice, and i really want this forced self exclusion looked into. I never asked for self exclusion and i know they forced it on me because they feared other players would demand these free spins offers stop and the games be disabled. I don't know who i can ask to look into this, it is clearly a breach of their own terms and conditions/ responsible gambling act. I want to get an option on theer POKER app for players to be able to disable side games. I won't stop until this happens. Can anybody tell me who to approach about my stated problems with LADBROKES ? As you can see from this long thread here, i do certainly have a case and they aren't being as responsible as they should be with their customers. They actually forced self exclusion on me because i requested the side games be disabled, not that i was constantly playing them and losing a fortune. That would be fair enough and responsible of them if they banned me because i had a problem playing the games too much, not ban me for NOT wanting to have them available 12 hours a day , in their POKER app.I requested games be disabled on the poker app, i wanted to choose games and casino when i fancy a wee gamble, log out/win or lose... then go back to grinding it out on a poker only app. Simple!!

Thankyou for your link, i actually went through everything i had to with Ladbrokes, then moved on to IBAS and RG, but they all said they couldn't offer any help. Using your link though was important, as the link within that advising me i could use a site called RESOLVER to contact Ladbrokes through one last time, meant i could now advise them through resolver, who work with trading standards, that i was now taking their company to Court - to let them explain to a Judge why they lied to me about the fact they said it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to disable side games on their Poker App. Something they are still doing to players today. Poker players are logged onto their poker apps for 12 hours a day, anyone constantly logged into/playing casino games for that amount of time are being flagged and then banned from playing with casino or games parts of their site because of the time they spend there.         What is different about having people logged into their poker app looking at/playing fruit machines for so long every day of the week? It's not right, poker players are being targeted by Ladbrokes, the same way sports betters were being targeted in shops with FOBT machines by them. They can't just tell lies to poker players and say side games can't be disabled with the poker app, when i can prove them wrong... because, as far as i know, i'm the only person to ever force Ladbrokes to disable side game for me on the app. They only did it because i got in touch with IPOKER themselves and explained they are the only IPOKER SKIN out of a long list of SKINS that refuse players permission to disable the fruit machines. No need for it, they have an option on their main site, seperate from poker, sports and bingo, that offers members a chance to play fruit machines within the casino or games sections of their main site. There is no mention of fruit machines when providing me with what i though was a POKER APP  ffs

@tommy2u2me Hey mate. You're barking up the wrong tree if you are trying to go down the county court route. They have made a policy decision to not disable slot machines in their poker app. They are not legally obliged to do this so any legal challenge will be a waste of your time.

A much more sensible approach would be to contact the UKGC and see if they agree with your view that slot games should be disabled if a player chooses and change the regulations to make it so.

As for the responsible gambling decision. Can you really say you don't have an issue if you are unable to control your urge to play a slot machine because it happens to be on display? That sounds like a lack of self control to me and a possible indicator that you might have a gambling problem (aside from the fact you gamble 12hrs a day playing poker). Its not unreasonable to assume the casino reached a similar conclusion.

Ladbrokes advertise "all customers have to opt in to weekly poker/side games challenges". They are misleading poker players, to get them onto their IPOKER skin. They say just to take part in side games challenges, a player would have to OPT IN. So how is it possible for them to tell me after i realize there is already fruit machines active within the POKER app "without any opt in to have them there from ME"  , that i can't actually opt "OUT" of having them?
Sure did they not just say i have to f@ckn opt in LOL. What are they stupid? Or, are they just pulling a fast one to try and get me addicted blindly??  Telling customers that want to play poker they have to opt in to side games related offers, but then telling them when they download the app they can't opt out of having side games is not responsible at all. It doesn't make any bloody sense mate. It is nothing other than an attempt to use their IPOKER skin to lure people into playing fruit machines. It is misleading as fck and an attempt to use a poker app as a back door to get more players playing slot machines for longer than they would have ever wished to be playing them... the main reason people don't log into games/casino 12 hours per day is because it will cost a fckn fortune and lead to a terrible addiction, that's why!!
They have a duty of care towards people that use their site, they can't tell me lies saying i can't disable fruit machines on their poker app when i can!!  just to get me playing them with giving me "free spins" i didn't ask for and couldn't get to stop as they lied saying i couldn't disable games. You see my point here, they are talking crap and breaching so many resposible gambling LAWS that only a court could make them stop doing so. As we all know the people that enforce the law, are the courts!!

I wanted the games disabled, because i could spend 12 hours per day logged into the POKER app,
My computer is logged on to the internet 24 hours a day where the casino sites are always open. It is something called self control that makes me not play all the time.

If you cannot resist playing a casino fruit game because it is shown on the screen, then you have serious gambling problem. I think ladbrokes did you a favour to self exclude you from their site, it would have been irresponsible of them to let you continue to play on their site.

You are missing the point... they don't tell me there is fruit machines on the poker app. Then they try and get me addicted to them, knowing i can't win in the long run if i do become addicted, unlike Poker. They couldn't do me a favour banning me from their site, as i was making money playing poker on their site. So maybe you should ask if i was losing money playing a game of skill, before you support their decision to ban me for not wanting to lose money through fruit machine addiction they tempted me into while playing Poker. I also wasn't logged into a casino, was i? I was logged into POKER which had no mention of fruit machines. The fact i don't log into casino 12 hours per day is called me having self control. I didn't want to be logged into a casino 12 hours each day, so when i wanted to play slots for a while, i would log into casino for up to an hour.

As for nudgeshuffle.....

I forgot to reply to your remarks in relation to my gambling addiction playing poker. You will find some people earn 6 figure sums each year from playing poker. How many fruit machine players can do that year in, year out? I think you will find it is none.
You ever wonder how the same players end up at the final few tables of a major world poker tournament every year? Poker is far from the same as playing slots. Poker is a job to some people and a game of skill. Sot machines are not a game anybody can grind out and win on. So, yes, i gamble a couple of euros myself playing a game of poker, but only because i know i can constantly win money from players that aren't as good. Having a poker provider force me to accept games on their site i can't win on, just to play poker isn't good, is it? They know i can't win in the long run playing these games, which is why they refuse me permission to disable them. It is a constant battle from sports betters and poker players to find a place to gamble if they find out how to win. The reason for this is because these bookmakers and poker providers aren't playing fair. They are trying to ban people that can win. They only want people that lose money, but that takes away everything they actually stand for, does it not? Come here and bet with us, "WE OFFER FAIR ODDS AND GAMES"
No but, yous don't... do you. As if i'm good at winning, you ban me and tar my name with self exclusion like i have a problem gambling, when, in fact, i'm just good at working out ways not to lose.
Here is the word gamble written in the dictionary:

gamble

ˈɡamb(ə)l/

verb

  1. 1.

play games of chance for money; bet.
    "he gambles on football"

    synonyms:

bet, wager, place a bet, lay a bet, stake money on something, back the horses, try one's luck on the horses; More

    •

  2. 2.

take risky action in the hope of a desired result.
"he was gambling on the success of his satellite TV channel"

    synonyms:

take a chance, take a risk, take a leap in the dark, leave things to chance, speculate, venture, buy a pig in a poke; More

noun

  1. 1.

    an act of gambling.
"Dad likes a bit of a gamble"

    synonyms:

    bet, wager, speculation; More

  2. 2.

a risky action undertaken with the hope of success.
"we decided to take a gamble and offer him a place on our staff"

    synonyms:

risk, chance, hazard, speculation, venture, random shot.

Note numbers 2. A risky action undertaken with the hope of success. These companies make a fortune from people that can't win every year, so by law they should NOT be allowed to ban and tar the names of people that work out a way to be successful and win every year. Even if it means they have to give a small percentage of their profits back to the good gamblers that can win. These companies think they can offer a service with a promise of fair games, but then take the fairness out of their games and services just because they are greedy c@nts that want everybody to lose their money every year. How many people would sign up and take the risk with them, if they stated in their terms and conditios that all winning and profitable players will be banned fro playing, if they can win?

if you could control yourself and just keep on playing poker and igonoring the other games then there would be no problem?

You should use your amazing poker skills on other sites and leave this site, dont think they will lift the ban

Ohh ffs, here we go... there is always one that will defend a company that breaches their own terms and conditions and don't even offer fair gaming. Do your research before you jump the gun. Ladbrokes don't own the IPOKER NETWORK!!! They are only using their network in order to be able to get customers that want to play poker onto THEIR ipoker skin, provided to them by Ipoker, so they can offer people the chance to play poker.
Their contract will state nothing more than the fact they will use the skin to provide poker. Not use it to force fruit machines onto poker players that didn't know they were there to start with, or thought they had to opt in anyways to play them.  That is all they are, an ipoker skin provider. They don't own a poker network, unlike 888 or pokerstars. That is why they shit themselves and disabled the side games for me, i reported them to the ipoker network for unfair practices and spam offers of free spins. They aren't allowed to use the IPOKER network to force poker players to look at slot machines if they actually just want them disabled when they are within the iPoker app.
So it's a case of if they tar my name with a forced self exclusion to make it look like i had a problem, when in reality they wanted to case me one, then i will do whatever it takes to make sure that they admit they were wrong to do so. I wanted the fckn games disabled and now i'm banned from POKER sites that DO allow me to disable side games... just because greedy Ladbrokes wouldn't let me.
I am not going to sit back and allow any bookmakers in the world stop me playing on sites like party poker, or coral poker, because they told lies saying i had a gambling problem when i didn't and did what i needed to do to make sure i didn't get one!!! They wanted rid of me and the forced self exclusion was them trying to get rid of me. Their reason for doing this is because they are greedy fckers that don't want any more poker players finding out they are telling lies, when they say side games can't be disabled. Ask yourself why they need to lie to their customers , why not just tell them they could disable side games for them but have decided not to allow them? If they did this with me to start with, i would have played somewhere else.... but because they made the decision to tell me lies, i'm now not allowed to play poker on most sites now.
Party poker, coral and all their sister sites which there are more... i can't play poker on because they think i have a problem with gambling playing fruit machines, when in reality, the only problem i had was i didn't want to play them or accept their spam offers of free spins every day of the week.
Take a casino affiliate for example, if i own an email address with google it doesn't mean they can send me spam offers of free spins to my email address... when i request to opt out,  just because if i don't want the offers, they could say,  then i shouldn't use the same email providers as they do and i wouldn't have to risk getting offers i didn't want from them. How would google mail look at that attitude?
That is what you are saying, if i didn't want spam offers of free spins, don't play poker on the the IPOKER network that Ladbrokes don't own. They can send as many spam offers as they want, when they invest in buying their own poker network. Until then, they will have to come to terms with the fact they are a SKIN provider to the Ipoker network and nothing more. I am allowed my say and i'm allowed to disable THEIR games when they offer them through a different providers site/network. Especially when they didn't let me know what was inside their skin, lied telling me when i seen the games there i can't disable them as it's not possible and refused to allow me to play the games they offered if i didn't accept spam offers for games they hid from me and left out of the t&c's relating to them completely.

@tommy2u2me I was trying to provide practical advice. Your ludicrous suggestion that 'responsible gambling laws' are being broken shows you know nothing about the legalities of gambling. Ladbrokes are licensed to provide 'remote casino' services amongst others. The regulator doesn't make any distinction between poker or slot machines from a remote gambling point of view. Go raise your court case and make sure the emphasize the point that the reason slots machines being on display is a problem is because you cannot exercise self control and feel obliged to play them so they can understand the real heart of the issue. Don't forget to cite non existent 'responsible gambling laws' to really hammer the message home.

Good luck champ - you got this!

1. They don't own the poker network i played poker on.
2. That means they can't force fruit machines on the poker app to me, i f want them disabled.
3. It is against the law to offer me free spins on games i didn't want to play, games i wanted to opt out of and get disabled; but they did anyways after weeks of attempting to get them disabled, which i could actually do, but they lied and said i couldn't.
4. They lied and said i could NOT disable the fruit machines on their SKIN of the ipoker network. Telling lies to get me playing the games is also against the law.
5. They forced a self exclusion on me and said i had a problem playing fruit machines, hello???... i was asking to disable them!!!
6. They don't play fair with winning players, they ban them and thousands of other sports betters and poker players that make a nice living from their JOB placing wagers on something they are good at.
7. They are stealing money from people that can win, saying they are cheating or coming up with some other reason.
8. Last of all, if they rewrite their terms and conditions and tell the truth about how if you can keep winning bets, you won't be allowed to play, then anybody that tries to win on their site after this will deserve to have their hard earned money taken away from them. "Come and bet with us, if you lose we might offer you a small bit of what you lost back, if you're lucky, but if you win we might not pay out your winnings, will ban you from all our sites/sister sites and probably tell everyone you have a gambling problem too.
Because we are greedy c@nts called ladbrokes, we would still make a fortune playing fair because most people can't win all the time... but we just don't care. We accept only bets from people we know will lose.

I wanted the fckn games disabled
And now they are disabled for you, for the next five years you got what you wanted.

Did someone force you to play at ladbroke or to continue to play at their site, if not then you only have yourself to blame.

They signed up to conditions with the ipoker network. They were to use the ipoker network to supply poker games. Their terms and conditions as a betting company have been breached, as they told me lies to get TRY and get me playing games i asked to opt out of.

I got what i wanted? Not being allowed to play at party poker with side games disabled, coral poker and others too where side games were disable? All i asked for was to not play at Ladbrokes if they tried to force me into a situation where i couldn't disable side games.

Nobody forced me to play on the ipoker network. Ladbrokes don't own the ipoker network. Now i can't play on a lot of ipoker network skins because ladbrokes got me banned saying i had a problem gambling. You miss the fact that i, although not forced to, was allowed to play on their site. They aren't allowed to let me play on the site when i raised concerns about the fact all other ipoker sites allow side games to be disabled and i wanted/needed them disabled (incase i developed a problem) . So they have a duty of care towards players on their site that phone them explaining this to make sure i can't play there. So, did they force me NOT  to play at the sight, UNTIL I GOT THE GAMES DISABLED? No...Only when i got the side games disabled and exposed their lies they told me, they banned me from playing and labeled me as the one with the problem!!

Seems like an accurate summary. A casino had zero obligation to accept bets and are certainly not shy about refusing bets or closing accounts for commercial reasons. The fact this account was closed due to responsible gambling concerns demonstrates the casino has genuine cause to feel the player was a problem gambler. If someone tells you they cannot see a slot machine without having a compelling feeling to start gambling what else can you conclude?

I'm starting to think you work for ladbrokes ffs. If they had concerns about a gambling problem, they could check and see i wasn't even playing the fruit machines on their poker app. They could see that my only problem was the fact i couldn't disable the games and stop getting free spins offers from them. They used the ipoker network to spam me with free spin offers on a poker site.
You again miss the fact they only banned me because i forced them to disable side games, something they told me was impossible for them to do... when in reality they were telling me lies in the hope i would spend a lot of time on these fruit machines within the Poker app. They kept me as a customer when i told them i was worried about the fact i couldn't disable the side games, then banned me 15 minutes after sending me an email to say they were now disabled. That was magic, wasn't that impossible to do?? Anyways,  They could offer me a place to go and play fruit machines, as i'm not against them and can enjoy them when i feel like logging into their casino to play them. They would rather, though, have me logged ito a poker app 12 hours per day knowing there's a chance i will play them more than i would usually, as i'm not on their casino 12 hours per day for a reason.

here's it in capital letters for you.... THEY WEREN'T WORRIED ENOUGH TO BAN ME WHEN THE GAMES WERE AVAILABLE TO PLAY ON THE POKER APP- THEY BANNED ME WHEN I MADE THEM ADMIT THEY TOLD ME LIES AND COULD IN FACT DISABLE THEM. THEY BANNED ME BECAUSE I MADE SURE THE GAMES WERE DISABLED FOR ME, ONLY 15 MINUTES AFTER THEY DISABLED THEM, THAT IS WHEN THEY DECIDED TO BAN ME. "WHEN THEY WERE DISABLED", IT MADE SURE I COULDN'T PLAY THEM. THAT IS WHY THEY BANNED ME, THEY WANTED ME TO PLAY THEM, SO BADLY SO, THEY TOLD ME I COULDN'T DISABLE THEM AND KEPT ME AS A CUSTOMER EVEN WHEN I WAS SPENDING WEEKS RAISING CONCERNS ABOUT THE FACT THEY WOULD NOT DISABLE THEM. THE GAMES WERE DISABLED BECAUSE I TOLD IPOKER WHAT THEY WERE DOING, NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE RESPONSIBLE IN ANY WAY TOWARDS ME AS A CUSTOMER... THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE INFACT!!

Hi, Tommy2u2me

as i think everyone can see by now you feel threated wrong by ladbrokes and that makes you upset. I dont agree with you and not defending the casino, but can still say that if i feel that someone threated me wrong i would also be angry. Feel free to do what you want, but i think if you not let this go it will eat you up. I cannot see it happening that ladbrokes will let you play at their site again, if that is what you want.

I like to play at pokerstars and i have asked them if it was possible to disable the casino part if i dont wanted to get tempted by it and they said of course. So if you want a pokersite where you only get poker that is maybe a place for you.

Have a nice day
