Our Editorial Policy (Updated July 2026)
What we publish, why we publish it, and where we draw the line.

Where We Come From
CasinoGrounds started in 2016 as a community of casino players writing for other casino players, and that origin still shapes everything we publish. Most online gambling content is written by people who have never put real money on a slot or waited for a withdrawal that took longer than promised. We have.
As a community, we've seen the industry change up close, from the acquisition of casinos by larger groups to the tightening of UKGC licensing, and the slow rollout of bonus terms that look generous until you read the fine print. That first-hand knowledge of the iGaming world shapes how we write and also what we find worthwhile to discuss.
This page explains the editorial standards we hold and why we hold them.
What We Cover and Why
We choose topics based on what our community is asking for, playing, and debating. Not from a database of keywords, nor what is easiest to rank for. When 75,000 forum members are discussing if a particular casino's withdrawal process has gotten worse, that's a signal. When a new slot mechanic sparks serious debate, that's worth covering properly.
We don't publish just because there's a commercial gap to fill. If we can't cover a subject knowledgeably and in a way that genuinely helps you, it doesn't get published.
What We Do Not Publish
We don’t publish content that gives the false impression of easy or guaranteed wins, and anything designed to lure players in ways that go against responsible gambling principles.
We also don’t publish anything we can't support with facts. The gambling content space has more than enough material that sounds trustworthy but isn't. We won’t add to it.
Our Editorial Principles
The six principles that guide everything we publish.
1. Full Picture
We cover wins, losses, and everything in between. We show reality as it is, not how operators would want it to appear. Our roots are in streaming, where every session, dead spins included, plays out in public.
2. Independent Reviews
We treat all operators equally in the criteria and judgments we apply, regardless of any commercial relationship. Every review covers the pros and the cons, including those for casinos we partner with.
3. Useful Depth
We take complex information and make it useful to real players: not what a figure states, but what it means for your next deposit. A "100% match with 35x wagering" is just a string of numbers until someone translates it. That translation is the job.
4. Open About How We Work
We are open about our methods, our relationships, and our mistakes. We disclose affiliate relationships on every page where they apply. For a detailed look at how we verify the information we publish, see our Fact-Checking Standards.
5. Shaped by Players
Our content is constantly improved by our community. When a forum member brings up a serious complaint, we investigate, and we act. We’ve removed operators from our site the same day a complaint was made, and we step in to help players wherever we can. That feedback loop is what community-first actually means.
6. Responsibility Built In
Safe play is a standard, not an afterthought. Responsible gambling tools are an assessed part of every review, and we credit operators who take player protection seriously.
Who Writes and Reviews Our Content
We are not a content farm. Writers at CasinoGrounds must know how online casinos actually work: what a 35x wagering requirement does to a bonus's real value, how to read and explain a slot's paytable and variance, and which licensing authorities actually mean something.
When we talk about regulations, player protection or game mechanics, we bring in subject-matter experts rather than settle for generalisation.
CasinoGrounds has also been co-developing games with providers since 2019. Titles such as Iron Bank and Beast Mode have come out of that process. That closeness to both the product and the community is what sets us apart.
Every piece we publish is reviewed by an editor before it goes live, checked for accuracy, tone, and whether the content genuinely helps a player make a real decision. For how that process applies specifically to casino reviews, see our Review Methodology.
The people behind our content bring direct industry experience — as players, researchers, and writers. Meet the CasinoGrounds editorial team.
How We Keep Content Current
The online casino industry moves fast: licensing terms change, operators get bought out, bonus terms can change on the fly, and regulatory requirements shift with little notice. We can't guarantee every page is perfectly current - nobody honestly can.
What we can promise: when content becomes inaccurate, and we're informed, we review and update it. Reviewed articles show the date they were last checked.
If you spot something that looks outdated or no longer accurate, let us know. Player alerts are among the most reliable ways we have to catch information that has drifted out of date.
We prioritise updates to content that directly influences a player's decision: casino reviews, licensing information, bonus terms, and player protection.
Independence and Disclosure
CasinoGrounds runs on affiliate partnerships with a number of the casinos we feature. That means we may earn a commission when players sign up or deposit through links on our site.
It does not buy a good review. We have previously provided negative reviews of active affiliate partners and criticised misleading bonus conditions - the commercial aspect of the company does not overlap with the editorial aspect.
We keep a hard line between commercial activity and editorial output: if an online casino doesn't deliver, we say so.
Our Take On Responsible Gambling
Responsible gambling shapes every review and every article we publish. That's not a policy we adopted; it's the baseline.
We're always honest about where we come from. CasinoGrounds began as a streaming community, where gambling is on full display, socialised and discussed.
That openness has real value: it normalises talking about variance, losing streaks, and how sessions really go. But it cuts both ways. A streamer hitting a huge win is entertaining; it is not what most sessions look like, and we never pretend otherwise.
We've been around long enough to know the difference between responsible gambling as a wholehearted approach and as a box-ticking exercise. Some operators hide deposit limits in menus; others write terms that prioritise longer playing time over the player; others talk about jackpots and never mention the odds involved. These are things we call out.
Day to day, this translates to:
- Scoring responsible gambling tools as part of every casino review, not as an afterthought.
- Calling out casinos that take a half-hearted approach to responsible gambling.
- Offering support wherever it's relevant, no matter where someone is in their gambling journey.
- Providing access to support resources (like GambleAware, GamCare, and GamStop for UK readers), so they’re easy to find when someone needs help.
Corrections: When We Get It Wrong
Small fixes like a typo or a broken link happen quietly; the "last reviewed" date reflects the update. If we publish something factually wrong that could affect a reader's decision, that's different. We treat it seriously and act fast.
Our community often finds things we’ve missed, such as a casino that changed its withdrawal terms, a bonus that’s no longer available, or a license that has expired. If you notice something that looks incorrect, we want to hear about it.
