- Power Spin with Giant 3x3 Middle Reel
- 4 Progressive Jackpots
- Low Variance Action
Powered by Microgaming in association with Alchemy Gaming, Wheel of Wishes is a simple, low variance 5x3 slot with just the one feature, a poor RTP and a low top prize. The Arabian/Genie themed slot does have one rather large redeeming feature, however, and that is the potential to shoot for 4 progressive jackpots, one of which is never lower than €2,000,000.
Where to play
How to win big in Wheel of Wishes – Power Spins
Landing 2 or more bonus wheel scatter symbols triggers a Power Spin, whereby the three middle reels become one giant 3x3 reel for one spin. The new reel only contains high value symbols and the bonus wheel symbol. Reels 1 and 5 only contain high value symbols and on every spin they both land full reels of the same random high value symbol. Landing a full bonus reel triggers the Wheel of Wishes Jackpot Bonus.
- Wheel of Wishes Jackpot Bonus
- Power Mode
Triggered by landing fully on the reels during a Power Spin, the Wheel of Wishes Jackpot Bonus guarantees winning one of the four progressive jackpots. The four jackpots start at €10, €100, €50,000, and €2,000,000 respectively and are known as the mini, minor, major, and WOWPOT. The WOWPOT bonus is not exclusive to Wheel of Wishes and is contributed to by players from a number of Microgaming slots. It’s worth noting that the more your bet size, the better your chance of winning a jackpot.
The game’s other feature is Power Mode, activated by pressing the Power Mode button to the left of the gameboard. Pressing the button simply makes every spin a Power Spin, but at a cost of 10 x the original bet per spin.
Look and Feel of Wheel of Wishes
The design is quite simplistic, set in the middle of an Arabian desert, with only sand dunes, rocky outcrops, and the hazy blue skies above as background. There are no animations, but there is a rather evocative soundtrack which complements the game quite nicely. The background changes from day to night upon triggering Power Spins with the blue skies replaced by clusters of stars. The gameboard switches from a pale stone colour to dark blue, with glowing embers of fire appearing at the top and bottom of the reels. The soundtrack also takes on a more urgent, upbeat tempo.
Low value symbols are the card suits. Highs include spell books, amulets, treasure chests, potion bottles, and the golden genie lamp. The lamp is the highest value regular symbol, paying 10x the bet size for a full payline. There is also a wild symbol which pays 50x the bet size for 5 on a payline. However, the scatter is the highest paying symbol of all, paying 500x the bet size for 5 on a payline. See below for a full breakdown of all symbol values
Wheel of Wishes is an uninspiring slot with a weak (500x) max win, and a woeful RTP of 93.44%. The RTP is of course severely affected by the player contributions to the progressive jackpots. One thing which may be of interest, especially to players hoping to scoop that life changing progressive jackpot is that the variance is very low. As a result, you can play for a long time before the casino’s 6.56% edge relieves you of your bankroll. Other than that, there’s nothing new or especially interesting about this slot. Only progressive jackpot hunters need apply.
