On this adventurous journey, you will be joining Dr Tigerstein to four different eras. Yggdrasil has created an interesting futuristic 3D world, along with fitting sound effects and a whole gang of tigers ready to explore with you. The theme is certainly unique as we are pretty sure we haven't seen any previous slots with time-travelling tigers before. In the background you will be seeing all sorts of animations such as blinking light-bulbs, swinging pendulums and wheels turning.

The reel set itself has been set within what we suspect must be the time machine itself and on the left side, you will spot Dr Tigerstein, even taking a look at his watch if you take too long to spin the reels. In total there are 9 standard symbols in the game, 4 of these are of lower value and are represented by the usual card suits. The symbols of higher value represent different historical eras and include items such as Egyptian scarabs, potion bottles, guns, shields and ancient tools. The last one being of the highest value, paying 6x your bet for 5 on a pay line.

Special symbols in the game consist of the scatter symbols and wild symbols. The wild symbol will function, as usual, being able to substitute all other symbols to help you form winning combinations. The most important symbol is, however, the scatter, where 3, 4 or 5 of them will activate the free spin mode. 

 

Special Features

 

The scatter symbol is the symbol which will activate the special feature in this game. There are 4 different features where three or more scatters on the reels will trigger the free spins mode. This will then cause Dr Tigerstein to take you along with him to a randomly chosen era.

Our Thoughts on Time Travel Tigers

 

This is without a doubt both a good looking and entertaining slot from Yggdrasil Gaming, which doesn't really come as a surprise. However, when we take a look at it from a players perspective, it really isn't all too impressive. Experienced players will likely agree with us here, while newcomers might simply enjoy the graphics, design and unique theme of the game.

The base game doesn't have too much to offer, which means you are basically waiting for the free spins feature to get triggered from the get-go. Even with a maximum winning potential of 1000x your stake in the free spins feature, we would have liked to see a number slightly higher than that. We can appreciate the fact that there are four different free spins scenarios you can end up in and that all four of them include wilds and multipliers. All in all, Time Travel Tigers is not the best slot to have been released by Yggdrasil Gaming, but it is good enough for some light entertainment and time travelling.
