How to win big in Leprechaun Riches – Free Spins
4 pot of gold scatters triggers 15 free spins with an increasing win multiplier. In both the base game and free spins matching symbols on 3 or more consecutive reels from the leftmost reel constitutes a winning combination. Every win increases the win multiplier for subsequent wins by 1x. The win multiplier is unlimited. Free spins can be retriggered. Any additional scatters over and above 4 landed during the initial triggering spin each add another 2 free spins.
- 576 – 46,656 Ways to Win
- Cascades with Reaction Wins
- Wilds on the Way
The Leprechaun Riches reel mechanic borrows very heavily from Big Time Gaming’s Megaways game engine in that reels can contain different numbers of symbols each spin, thus increasing or decreasing the number of ways to win. However, unlike Megaways slots, only reels 2-5 contain changing reel sizes. Reels 1 and 6 always contain 6 symbols. Reels 2-5 contain between 2 and 6 symbols on each spin. Therefore, the minimum number of ways-to-win is 576 (6x2x2x2x2x6) and the maximum is 46,656 (6x6x6x6x6x6).
Playing Leprechaun Riches, symbols cascade onto the reels rather than spin. After a win is added to your balance, the winning symbols disappear to be replaced by symbols cascading from above. A winning combo caused by this cascade is called a reaction win. Reaction wins continue until no new winning combo is formed, after which the spin ends. Cascades with reaction wins occur in both the base game and during free spins.
On reels 2-5 some larger symbols are framed in silver. A silver framed symbol which forms part of a win remains on the reels after the win, but the frame is upgraded to gold and the symbol disappears to be replaced by another random symbol. If the new, gold framed symbol forms part of a win, then the symbol transforms into a wild. Furthermore, if the symbol covered 2, 3, or 4 regular symbol spaces, then it transforms into 2, 3, or 4 wilds. This is called the ‘Wilds-on-the-Way’ feature.
Look and Feel of Leprechaun Riches
PG Soft have done a great job on the HD design, with superb detailing, artwork, and animations. There aren’t any real surprises design-wise, however, as Irish themed slots tend to follow a familiar pattern; Leprechauns, four-leaf clovers, greenery and countryside, pots of gold, and an upbeat Irish melody to accompany play.
This medium variance game plays very similarly to many Megaways slots, even including a free spins round with an increasing win multiplier – so nothing new there. The Wilds-on-the-Way feature, however, is a nice touch which adds a little anticipation to proceedings and can bump up the wins nicely. The advertised 100,000x max win is certainly an enticing prospect, although beware of this claim. It’s not that I’m suggesting it isn’t possible – it must be if it’s so advertised. However, looking at the game stats, the biggest win achieved during the game’s billion test spins was ‘just’ 9,893x. A win of nearly 10,000x is not to be sniffed at of course, but it isn’t even 10% of the apparently possible max win. This leads me to conclude that you’re as likely to see a 100,000x win as you are a real-life Leprechaun. In fact, getting big wins is quite tough all round as the highest paying symbol awards just 4x the bet size for 6 on consecutive reels. See below for the entire paytable and symbol values.
Although Leprechaun’s Riches doesn’t break down any slot barriers, relying very heavily on ideas taken from other providers, its still a decent game which is fun to play. Furthermore, with an RTP of 97.35%, which is significantly higher than average, players should get plenty more bang for their buck.
