How to Win Big in Desperate Dawgs – Crime Spree Free Spins
3 green framed dog scatters trigger the Crime Spree feature which awards 10 free spins with an increasing win multiplier. Starting at 1x, the win multiplier increases by 1x after every spin, whether the spin is a winning or losing one. It is possible to retrigger the feature up to a maximum of 30 spins and hence a 30x win multiplier.
- Wagon Trail
- Bank Buster
All 3 special features are triggered by landing 3 (or more) matching dog symbols. 3 or more of the yellow framed dogs trigger the Wagon Trail feature. Upon activation, three Wild West wagons appear on screen, each hiding a different cash win. Pick one of the wagons to reveal your prize. The size of the wins are dependent on how many dog symbols triggered the bonus (3, 4, or 5).
Red framed dog scatters on reels 1, 3, and 5 triggers the Bank Buster feature. Three safes appear on screen: bronze, silver, and gold. You must pick numbers one at a time from a keypad showing numbers 1-9. The bronze safe has a 3-figure combination, silver has 4, and gold has 5. You must pick numbers, one by one, which are then tested on all 3 safes. The first safe combination to be revealed is opened and the win awarded. The higher value the safe, the higher value the award.
Look and Feel of Desperate Dawgs
The design of Desperate Dawgs is fairly standard. The backdrop is a static desert scene with rocky outcrops in the distance and an arid, sandy desert in the forefront. A few three pronged cactus are dotted about the sand, as are a couple of random animal skulls. The wood framed gameboard has the logo at the top and lanterns handing off the cross-beams either side. Low value symbols are the 4 card suits with the sheriff’s badge, revolver, and the games logo are the high value symbols. The logo is the highest, with a full payline awarding 25x the bet size. See the full paytable below.
The game itself isn’t the worst in the world, but the slightly lame design and low variance math model makes it tough going at times. The Crime Spree feature can be rewarding, especially if you manage a retrigger, but generally, the features don’t pay tremendously well and are tough to trigger. A steady run of base game wins keeps you in the game, and if you want bang for your buck in terms of playtime then this may be the game for you. For those seeking big wins and big thrills, however, this is unlikely to scratch that itch.
