Where to play
As mentioned above, there are actually quite a number of special features to keep an eye out for in this slot. What surprised us, however, was the lack of a wild symbol. There are sticky wilds and scatter symbols however as well as the Max Bounty feature, the Bounty Hunter feature rewarding you re-spins and the Sheriff feature offering bigger payouts.
The Sheriff Feature, of course, involves the sheriff symbol which can land anywhere on the reel set except for the middle reel. When this symbol lands on the game, the sheriff will capture all bandits, meaning it will collect the values from all of the bandit symbols on the reels of that spin. The value of the bandit symbols will be added together and give you the combined value.
Max Bounty Feature
In this feature, you will be getting a closer look at the 5 bandit symbols of the game, which all play a pretty big role in the slot. Each of these 5 bandits has a prize value attached to them, starting from x3 and then going up to x10, x20, x35 and finally x50 which is the highest available value. These bandit payouts will become active when you have triggered any of the two game's feature.
Bounty Hunter Feature
This re-spin round is the main feature of the game and will be triggered by landing the female bounty hunter on the middle reel of the game. Any of the bandit symbols that happened to be present during that spin will be locked in place and you will be rewarded with a re-spin on a completely new set of reels.
During the re-spin, only the bandits, gold coins or blanks will be able to land on the reels. Should one of the bandit symbols land, then this symbol will also become locked into place and you will be rewarded with yet another re-spin. However if you land a gold coin, then the value of all of the bandit symbols locked in place will increase, followed by another re-spin. The feature will end when you have a re-spin where no bandit symbols or gold coins land on the reels. In this case, the value of all of the bandit behind bars symbols locked into place will be added together to give you the total prize.
Design and Symbols
As mentioned, the whole slot is based on a Wild West theme, where this time, Red Tiger Gaming have gone for a pretty dark, dusty and toned down look. You will be seeing a couple of cowboys riding away on their horses, leaving the reel set surrounded in brown and red dust. The reels themselves have been framed by a wooden and metal frame, along with a horned bull's skull placed at the bottom and the slot title at the top complete with a sheriffs star.
On the wheels, there are a number of different symbols you will be seeing, with 4 low-value symbols and 5 high-value symbols. The low-value symbols are of course represented by the standard card suits, with hearts, diamonds, spades and clovers designed in wooden structures complete with bullet holes in them. The high-value symbols, on the other hand, are represented by a pair of cowboy boots, a cowboy hat resting on some rope, a saddle, two pistols and finally a chest filled with golden coins. The chest is the most valuable symbol paying 80x your total stake for 5 of a kind.
Then we have the special symbols of the game, which of course consist of the 5 bandits we have mentioned earlier. These 5 bandits all show the wanted men on each their poster which play their role in both the Bounty Hunter feature as well as the Max Bounty feature. You will also be seeing the sheriff himself, set in a golden sheriff star which will be triggering the Sheriff feature. The last special symbol is the bounty hunter herself, which will trigger the Bounty Hunter feature.
Our Thoughts on Bounty Raid
While westerns have pretty much become a thing of the past in terms of movies, they are certainly alive and kicking when it comes to slots. Bounty Raid offers great visuals and graphics, which is what we usually expect to see from Red Tiger Gaming. However, the looks of the slot isn't quite enough to keep the game interesting for too long. We are missing some features with a little more to them than what we have been given and this combined with the low potential on wins, doesn't make much of a great slot.
There will likely still be some players who seem to appreciate this slot for what it is, but seeing how many other western-themed slots are out there, offering so much more, we can't imagine this would be the first choice. The one feature that we found ourselves enjoying, was the Bounty Hunter feature with the re-spins. Aside from that, you'll probably be better off choosing other western-themed slots.
