How to Win Big in Big Buck Bandits Megaways – Jackpot Respins Bank Heist
6 or more scatters trigger the Jackpot Respins Bank Heist feature. The scatters come in the form of either moneybags or one of four Jackpot trophies. Moneybag scatters contain cash values between 1x – 30x the bet size whereas the trophies have cash values of 10x (Bronze), 50x (Silver), 250x (Gold), 1000x (Platinum).
3 respins are awarded and a ‘hold and spin’ mechanic keeps all scatter symbols held on the reels while the other symbols spin. Respins continue until the board is full or 3 spins pass with no scatters landing. During respins, the Bronze and Silver jackpot scatters are able to land multiple times, whereas the Gold and Platinum jackpots can only land once each. When the respins end the moneybag and jackpot scatter totals are combined for the bonus win. At this point you can choose to collect or gamble your winnings. The gamble feature is described in more detail in the next section.
- Up to 117,649 Megaways
- Cascades with Reaction Wins
- Double Cross Gamble Feature
- Bonus Buy
For those unfamiliar with Megaways slots, the number of paylines, or in this case ‘Megaways’, changes every spin. Each of the 6 reels contains up to 7 symbols, and that number changes on all reels every spin. The maximum number of Megaways occurs when all 6 reels land 7 symbols on the same spin. 3 or more identical symbols on adjacent reels from the leftmost reel constitute a winning combo. As such, the highest number of Megaways is 7x7x7x7x7x7, or 117,649. Big Bucks Bandits Megaways uses a popular configuration with a horizontal reel above reels 2-5. The horizontal reel is the only reel in which the wild symbol appears.
Symbols cascade onto the reels rather than spin. After a win is added to your balance, the winning symbols disappear to be replaced by symbols cascading from above. A winning combo caused by this cascade is called a reaction win. Reaction wins continue until no new winning combo is formed, after which the spin ends. Cascades only occur during the base game.
The Double Cross Gamble Feature is only available after the Bank Heist bonus comes to an end. This feature allows you to gamble your winnings up to a maximum of 5x the win. It operates on a simple wheel of fortune with green and grey segments where green wins and grey loses. Winning once increases the win by 1.5x then 2x, 3x, 4x, and 5x. If you lose on the first gamble you still walk away with half your winnings. Losing at any other stage takes your winning back down to 1x, although the further you go, the better your chances of winning the next spin.
Players not keen on playing the base game have the option to buy straight into the Jackpot Respins Bank Heist for 60x the bet size (UK excluded).
Look and Feel of Big Bucks Bandits Megaways
Big Bucks Bandits Megaways has a common look for Wild West themed slots, with views across arid, rocky outcrops stretching out into the distance. The wood framed gameboard takes up most of the screen with translucent black reels containing the game’s 10 regular symbols as well as the scatters and wilds. The golden gunslinger is the highest paying symbol by far, awarding 100x the bet size for 6 adjacent symbols. The full paytable can be seen below.
In terms of gameplay, anyone who has played ReelPlay’s previous Megaways slots (Atlantis Megaways and Hypernova Megaways) will know what to expect as once again ReelPlay has chosen to run the same mechanic and main feature as they have on the aforementioned slots. Something a little different might have been nice, but this is still a perfectly viable slot with plenty to offer.
