Special Features

There are a couple of different special features going on in Barbarian Fury, however, the game is all about the xNudge feature as this feature is present both during the main game as well as during the Fury Spins feature. 

xNudge Roaring Wild

The xNudge consists of a wild symbol which is 4-rows high and can appear on the reels 2, 3 and 4. The wild symbol will always nudge downwards on the reels to be completely visible and each nudge will in return increase the Wild multiplier by x1. What makes this feature even better is that several Wild multipliers will simply add to each other to create one big Wild multiplier on one pay line, giving you the possibility to get some huge wins.

Barbarian Respin

This feature of the game will be triggered when 3 or more of the same Barbarian symbol lands on the reels. When Barbarian Re-spin is triggered, the barbarians will nudge to be fully visible on the reel set and then be locked in place in order for you to get your re-spin. Any wild symbols on the reels will also be locked in place and be a part of the re-spin round.

Fury Spins

Should 3 or more scatter symbols land on the reels, then the Fury Spins feature will be triggered. Here the wild multiplier will become sticky and won´t be reset between each spin. The number of spins you receive will depend on how many nudges will be needed for the scatter symbols to be nudged down and out of the reel set. Each nudge will award you with 1 spin. You can also receive more spins during the Fury Spins feature should additional scatter symbols land on the reels, again you will receive 1 spin for each nudge.

Design and Symbols

As mentioned already, this slot got us thinking immediately about the well known stories about Conan the Barbarian. Stories which have been re-created in both films, magazines, books and even computer games. We have a slight hunch that Nolimit City has gotten their inspiration for Barbarian Fury from this same story, however of course with a little twist. In this slot, you will not only see one Barbarian but three different ones, of course also showing up on each their symbol. In the background there are dark woodlands, with snow coming down, creating the perfect atmosphere for the game. The reel set has been framed by roots and thorns from trees with skulls embedded in them.

Symbols on the slots five reels include five low value symbols, consisting of the standard card suits, starting from 10 and going up to A, with the A being the most valuable one giving 375 for five of a kind. These symbols have been designed onto what looks like wooden shields, very fitting for the theme. The three other main symbols of the game are the three barbarians, a younger man, a woman and an older bearded man as the most valuable one of them, paying 1 250 for 5 of a kind.

As well as the main symbols, there are a couple of special symbols too. The wild symbols show a growling bear, while the scatter symbol shows an equally angry wolf. The wild symbol is the one to trigger the xNudge feature while the scatter is responsible for triggering the Fury Spins feature.

Our Thoughts on Barbarian Fury

Nolimit City seems to have created an entertaining and somewhat original slot here, even though the barbarian theme might remind some players of the many Viking themed slots that are out there. The details and quality of the graphics are great and there are a couple of different fun features to look out for. Of course, the main one is the xNudge feature which we can´t help but loving, seeing that it can pop up in both the main game as well as the free spins feature.

As always we would have liked them to steer away from the standard card suit symbols, but other than that we think this is a slot many players will find entertaining. The fact that there is a maximum payout of 8 785x the total bet, of course, doesn't hurt either.
