Watford FC Are Now Sponsored By Stake Casino

Wow thanks for reporting this, now that is some big surprise, Premier League club too.

Because of the amounts involved I am pretty sure that Watford & Stake have looked into the legality of this,
but I would think that only UKGC licensed operators are allowed to sponsor football teams / advertise on the UK gambling market?

With Stake not being UKGC licensed and offering betting/gambling to British, I don't see this lasting long?

They have a new site stake.co.uk registered.

The issue is they allow all types of activity that the UKGC hate.  Unless they stick with their Curacao license.  Surely the UKGC will get wind of the no KYC policy though?

Unfortunately you see around stadiums and throughout clubs betting companies without ukgc licence one a few years ago had one on there shirt and some today still advertise on boards mainly Asian ones.

^^ Oh that is mildly surprising.

I imagine that Stake is not offering a gambling website to British people, but instead is going to offer other 'crypto-themed initiatives' on the UK website while 'leveraging the global appeal of the Premier League to drive awareness of the brand across the world' for the international gambling website?

There are plenty of precedents of shirt sponsoring of teams that primarily target the international market rather than the domestic market.

Maybe the UKGC advertising guidelines have to be changed to stop this sponsorship?

If they open a UK site they wil need to ask for KYC

How will fake streamers like Foss bypass this as bonus buys are banned in the UK

Play with vpn maybe? I do miss bonus buys though grinding some games at current slow spin speed sometimes without auto play is not fun at all

funny how i called this a while ago that crypto casinos are going to become the new norm, stake already sponsor the UFC too. Just wait, other crypto casinos will soon sponsor other large companies

Wow, indeed this seems crazy.  Seems to go completely against the grain of all of the strict regulations that have been implemented in relation to gambling there.

stake.co.uk is under aspire global limited licence, it will just be a normal casino with everything that the rest of the casinos in the UK market sow, kyc etc no bonus buys and the rest of the bs.
there actually nothing wrong with ''stake'' it's the scumbags who promote it......... makes it a bad name..........

The UKGC will slaughter them if players are inside the UK playing with VPN
They are.. it's BECAUSE of the UKGC with there 3 million different bs rules and regs, which drives casinos out of the UK market and drives players to these sites. the UKGC is the problem not stake lol.
