Sports bet voided (after the match finished and it won) - what do you think?

Hi all,

Keen to get people’s views on this. I placed a bet on the Netherlands Japan game (well several bets). The bets were;

Over 67.5 goal minutes at 1.8

Over 6 saves at 1.77

The first bet was voided 30/40 mins after the final whistle. I’ve attached screenshots from the live chat and escalated. I know Hype don’t run their own sportsbook but it worries me that this can happen. I find it suspicious they waited until after full time to cancel. There’s no way I’d be getting anything back if it lost (which at half time was likely! 0-0).

Second bet they used stats from somewhere that wasn’t the FIFA stats (FIFA showed 10 shots on target and other one 9). Watching the game I saw 6 saves but again it’s a worry that the sportsbook use whatever data means they win. Previously they told me Optastats wasn’t what they used - so I lost out yet now ‘sofascore’ counts!

This is the 10th or so time I’ve been in this situation now….

Thoughts?

Most if not all sports market traders use Opta (which is owned by Stats Perform). It's normally the use by punters of sofascore stats that causes the confusion. However, Hype clearly state under their t&cs for soccer that settlement is on basis of

• Official source (official league/competition website, etc.).
• WhoScored (https://www.whoscored.com/).
• 365 Scores (https://www.365scores.com/).
• Sofascore (https://www.sofascore.com/).

And no you do not get to cancel the bet after the event because the result did not suit. The response you got was that the risk manager indicated that the odds were wrong ? Where they a clear error ? Check it with odds checker.

Yeah agreed opta is the one I’ve always seen which is why it surprised me. Odds were 1.8 so I’m not sure how it was an obvious error.

Frustrating as I really like Hype for all the casino stuff and the multiplayer rooms just so annoying on the sportsbook side.

It’s more the timing of the cancellation/Void - waiting until it’s over (and another 30 mins) then voiding doesn’t sit right with me. Given I stake a lot with them it’s these little things that irritate.
