Well promotion of alcohol certainly isn't banned in many places.Do you guys think that gambling on these platforms should not be allowed?
Since something like promoting alcohol and tobbaco is I guess forbiden.
There is legal and morally bankrupt though the same jurisdiction that allows Kim to stream allows Poshstien and others to operate too. We're all adults. We don't need a jurisdiction to tell us what we can and can't watch if it's legal. It's up to ourselves if we want to watch gambling since we're able to make a decision ourselves if we do or don't want to watch anything right? If someone doesn't like gambling streams then don't watch. It really is that simple![]()

The creater of this thread asked if it should be allowed promoting gambling on streaming platforms so my reply is to him. We're all adults and able to decide what we can and can't watch without anyone telling us we can or can't. It's not illegal to gamble , stream it, promote it or watch it so I'm easily able to decide myself if I want to watch. If I don't like what I see I won't watch. This is my opinion anyway
It's not as simple as that. You have psychology to consider and you have no control on who is watching. It could be 12 year olds and there brains work a bit different then an adults brain. We're all adults. We don't need a jurisdiction to tell us what we can and can't watch if it's legal. I always say the same regarding this topic, if there is a feeling/need to stop any of this you shouldnt go ahead and bash legit streamers of gambling but instead should root for governments outright banning gambling altogether. It's not as simple as that. Indirectly your influencing people and in the era of influencers you as the influencer should take the responsability to promote social correct behaviour, it's part of the job. This is the reason why Neil Degrasse Ttyson for example directly debunks idiot rappers who are saying that the earth is flat.
Gambling has never been or will be a social correct behaviour.
True but that is an uphill fight that will take decades still. To be fair i don't think it's a fight that can be won, not in a capitalistic world. The reveneus are to big.I always say the same regarding this topic, if there is a feeling/need to stop any of this you shouldnt go ahead and bash legit streamers of gambling but instead should root for governments outright banning gambling altogether.
Streamers are not the root problem if you view it as such, but the core itself which is gambling. As long as gambling in generell is not prohibited, imo streamers shouldnt be either unless theyre obviously hard misleading and playing pretentionfunds. If you disagree im open to hear your statement on it!
That’s an opinion and not a fact. If you want to have a discussion please don’t use false arguments we might be gamblers but we are not stupid.Gambling has never been or will be a social correct behaviour.
You're viewing gambling from the point of a non-entertaining value and that is why your point if views are skewed. Take Alcohol for example, Alcohol is a social/entertainment drink, which under correct use is a valuable asset for tax revenue and to the economy. It also has an age limit which (for most countries) is the same as gambling/smoking regulatory age. Kids/Teenagers see their parents take part in this ritualistic consumption whilst growing up, much the same as they would see their parents smoking whilst growing up, and probably gambling too. So, what you going to do about that? You can't do anything in reality....the costs to ANY economy in banning these things is frightening.True but that is an uphill fight that will take decades still. To be fair i don't think it's a fight that can be won, not in a capitalistic world. The reveneus are to big.
So what can we do in the meantime?
Gambling is now a well-recognised public health issue costing 100's of millions in healthcare. I beg to differ. That’s an opinion and not a fact. If you want to have a discussion please don’t use false arguments we might be gamblers but we are not stupid.
Nice final sentence very orignal also. You're viewing gambling from the point of a non-entertaining value and that is why your point if views are skewed. Teenagers drink and smoke well before it is legal for them to do so, that is human nature. They see sexual content and watch violent movies before it is legal for them to do so. All part of growing up. You're trying to bubble wrap the world from something that is probably in the range of 1% of all explicit or age related content on youtube/twitch? I see you really want to make a change to the world.
One thing you could do is sort out your spelling and punctuation, it gave me a headache. Think kids need protection from seeing anything you type out.
That's the kicker for me right there. Perhaps the platforms should do more in making sure that this is uphold? At the end of the day, gambling can be fun and promoted in a sensible way.
You are confusing gambling and addiction. Two different things. Gambling made the public millions.Gambling is now a well-recognised public health issue costing 100's of millions in healthcare. I beg to differ.
Firstly, gamblers and gambling companies pay in taxes to cover that costs. Secondly, streamers are small part of the "problem", everyone encourages to gambling: journalists, players, clubs (it is sick how many sportsbooks sponsor sport clubs) etc. As @Slotspinner said, if you want to "fix" this problem, you have to ban gambling completely. And it will give you nothing because people would still gamble, just illegally.Gambling is now a well-recognised public health issue costing 100's of millions in healthcare. I beg to differ.
