Had a long (and somewhat heated) debate with someone in chat today about whether or not 50 spins in BTG's new who wants to be a millionaire slot should guarantee a £1m payout. Just wondered what other people thought?
Personally, I don't. Like most slots, the max payout is only available when betting the max stake. A £1m payout is possible on a £20 spin (max stake according to BTG), so I don't see an issue. If 50 spins guaranteed a £1m, I'd expect to see a lot of people playing on 20p, effectively increasing their max win from 50,000x to 5,000,000x.
The other person in the debate just kept repeating that it's called who wants to be a millionaire and 15 correct answers in the show wins £1m so 15 correct gambles should mean the same. Couldn't grasp that slots and TV shows are entirely different.
