That time of year again, hockey!
NHL seasons 2020-2021 starts in January, until then European Hockey featuring the 2020-2021 Penny DEL season in Germany.
Last season was a disaster, and the competition was aborted before the playofffs began.

DEL Hockey is a sport relying heavily on ticket sales and other gameday revenues, and a financial crisis has struck the league very hard.
Wage cuts of 60% are common, and some new signings are rumoured to be for minimum wage.
All teams (sort of except RB Munchen) have applied for financial aid from the government,
and for my favourite team Kolner Haie a million Euros had to be raised from the public just to survive.
Yet most teams seem to be more or less intact, with the exception of Krefeld Penguins.
In the pre-season, 8 out of 14 teams played a tourney. Results are here:

For the 2020-2021 season, there are some drastic rule changes because of Corona.

One of the new rules is a 'glove rule' : when a player takes of gloves for a provocation or to fight, he automatically gets an additional time penalty.
After three penalties in a season the player gets an automatic ban.
There are also rules for canceling of games because of Coronavirus, and a team must play if it hays at least 1 goalie and 10 players.
The 2020-2021 season has a 'North' and a 'South' group.
The top 4 teams of each group advance to shortened playoffs series.

The opening game for the season is KÖLNER HAIE - DÜSSELDORFER EG at 19:30.
Apart from the single game bets I have made a couple of outright bets this afternoon.
The RB Munchen bets just because I have a gut feeling that they should win way way more than 1 in 3,5 times.
The Kolner Haie bets only because I am a supporter.
