My thoughts about the Wild Cauldron slot (hereafter abbreviated: WC)
Quickspin (QS) is a quality slot provider that releases slots which with nice and crisp graphics, good music / sound and fluent gameplay.
I don't like most of their games' volatility / win distribution very much though, and am not playing the slots for extended times because of the feeling that the biggest hits are too rare to make up for the money draining.
WC graphics and sound: good but not as good as some of their other slots.
There is no little 'story' for the slot (compare: Ivan and Immortal King, Hall of Mountain King, even Big Bad Wolf)
It does not help that the graphics and slot layout resemble PlaynGo's Reactoons, which is one of best slots out there.
Wild Cauldron features 'locked symbols tumbling' which combines two enjoyable game mechanics:
The locked symbols has worked decent on Wild Chase and Tokyo Go, and tumbling on Golden Glyph.
It comes together decent enough in this game, but just not great.
Some drawbacks:
- the symbols / monsters are not exciting enough and/or resemble Reactoonz.
Compare some BTG slots where you are always on the lookout for top symbol which pays much more than other symbols.
Or even Wild Chase where you are looking for 'face symbols'.
- it takes 4 green vials to trigger the bonus. Very often you get three without a win.
- very often a wild symbol/multiplier and/or green vial drops next to the win without adding to the winlines.
This only makes a small win a double small win, without triggering a new respin. Not very exciting.
The variance: I have played this game a good bit, maybe 20 hours on fast spinning on minimum stakes, 20cents and 40cents.
For extended periods I have maintained balance, dropped down 100x to get back some with a bonus, only to really drop balance in some other stretches. Estimated loss of EUR 250-300 on min. stakes without ever getting the feeling that a real big hit was around the corner.
The bonuses: I have got 60-65 bonuses with results from 0.x to 314.6x and recorded most of them.
From this forum thread I have noticed some bigger hits, but started to think I would not hit big.

Please notice that the one big hit of 288x is a small bunch of cheap symbols x4.
A full screen of top symbols x8 would pay maybe 30000x but you never get the feeling that this can happen.
All in all I think this is a good slot (7/10) which could be a predecessor of a really great slot with combination of QS game mechanics.
My entry for the competition: Oops I am sorry about that, I played this slot for hours and hours and missed the best hit.
Unfortunately the game autoplay stops only for bonuses which are started manually.
So I missed this base game hit of
1843,2x or activated a bonus without noticing it play out.

nice design as well. finally a quickspin slot with massive potential! i played this slot quiet a bit before the competition and was way more lucky. but it is what it is. get some decent bonuses every now and then and i really hope they will release more slots like this!
