Advertising crypto-casinos

I think we all know the major roll crypto-casino's play within the gambling community. They have a bad influence, and are in general not trustworthy with our private information and money. I'm an active viewer from Letsgiveitaspins stream and do believe they are very honest about this issue. Letsgiveitaspin has a great reputation (overall, but especially when it comes to player protection) within the gambling community. I'm sure they are, with the stream moderators, doing everything they can to guarantee player and money safety. Though, with Twitch not allowing direct links anymore, I think the general (not allowed) advertising on all sorts of streams will become a bigger problem. Lately I've been contacted through a whisper-message on Twitch. These people will join different streams and start whispering people to join a certain (crypto) casino. They will try almost anything to join their website and guarantee all sorts of things they most likely won't ever do. The person that contacted me promised me a 100% roulette strategy which obviously is impossible. I'm going to post parts of the conversation below, and make sure to have a laugh about it. I've wasted this guys time knowing the time he wasted with me, he wouldn't be able to get other people to join his website. 

Some things to keep in mind:

1. If somebody advertises a certain website to you through whisper-messages, make sure to keep in mind those websites may cause you and your computer harm. 
2. Never deposit any money on a crypto-casino. They are, in general, not trustworthy. Casinogrounds has a clear, and respectable, page where you can find several trustable casinos. You're money is safe there, and if there are any issues, you always will be able to contact someone to get it fixed.
3. If something looks too good to be true, it most likely is. Casino strategy's are in no way 100% rtp, obviously. Even when we are playing blackjack optimal, there's no way someone would be able to have 100% rtp. If someone is promising  this to you, he's simply lying. 
4. If you ever find someone advertising those websites to you in a private message, make sure to contact any of the available moderators, so they can handle them.

I disagree with #2. Crypto casinos can be more legit than most the casinos CG advertises. 

Heck even CG has CRYPTO ONLY casinos.. and just because a casino isn't on their list doesn't mean they aren't legit. For example, bet365 is the largest bookmaker/casino in the world by a mile and they aren't even on that list. It's best to do your own research and be wise.

They are a legitimate site by themselves but its the way they are advertising or promoting which portrays them in a shady way.

I've said this before, the danger in crypto casinos are the lack of KYC and reliable self exclusion which may result in underage gambling and problem gambling. In terms of rtp, they funnily seem to have higher rtp than leovegas on some slots. As for withdrawing your money, trust me its easier with the lack of KYC or the very annoying SOW. We all know how annoying some casinos can be, crypto casinos are not heavily regulated so they dont have to care that much, they will win in the long run against gamblers (rtp)

The important thing to keep in mind is gamble responsibly, be it land based, crypto or non crypto casinos.

You're right about the most things, but in general there is a great customer care on the casino's adviced here. (crypto or not)
The problem i'm trying to adress is that there is no regulation on these casinos. People advising these casinos can be a trigger for some people who have already self-excluded themselves. In the end you want to know where your money is going and to who, and with proper "allowed" casinos you kind of know where it is going and to who. 

Focussing on my country (Belgium) it's assumed about 467.081 people may have a problem with gambling. Belgium is quite serious about gambling though, and allows only certain sites. With people advertising in these shady ways, and assuming about half a million people may have issues (now or in the future), gives me a strong feeling things are really going downhill. Problem gamblers will do anything to deposit money. (from vpn to shady casinos) That's exactly why I would focus on CG's list, which is reliable for the least. You also have a platform on here to complain about those sites, which is always handled with care. The point exactly that crypto-casino's arent regulated that much right now, will increase the amount of issues for the problem-gamblers. And that's the point i'm trying to make.

The numbers in belgium just like any other country like the UK, DE or even NL in this case have far more numbers but they dont show up because they are officially not registered. The amount of (problem) gamblers is on the heavily rise. Goto google, type "Gokverslaving" and hit the tab "news" and you'll see what i mean. There are people hiding their addiction and even stealing up to a million from their employer causing them to be paying off a huge debt the rest of their life. 

Its sickening, and i think the primarily reason to this is the isolation online casino's bring as a overall experience. You know if you lost in a normal landbased casino your often tempted to just leave or at least have some dignity. The degree to an addiction to a landbased is still there, but not so intense as with online gambling. I hate the fact these games are designed more and more to tilt players. It's just a digital mouse-trap your in. You want to win because the previous time winning was so easy right?

If i would play at any casino, i do a bit of my homework really. I avoid places that hold no jurisdiction really to pay you out if they dont want to. The catch in above chat is proberly Paid on signup. Thats why they are hammering on signing up for free 7 dollars, even if the user woud'nt deposit at all. Screwing the casino as well by sending in fake affiliates now too.

You are completely right about that. The Belgian government has some sort of tolerance for pokergames as well. In Belgium, clubs are now allowed to host pokergames for €20. You wouldn't see a big issue with that at first, but there's no regulation about these games which sorts in half of these clubs interpreting the rules in a way this comes out well for the club. For example: Theres a €20 buyin for a nlhe game, but with unlimited buyins. So people would still end up losing way more. There as well are a lot of addicted and problematic people gambling, with again no restrictions.

I agree that some aspects of crypto casinos can be great. The biggest problem we have, a problem you also mention, is the RG aspect with some of the actors in the space. There are many more things we don't like (like the marketing methods) but RG is the biggest.

If one doesn't give any personal details, how would one be able to self exclude? It's just a click to create a new account. Not giving any details and thus no KYC is obviously also opening up for money laundering.

But I would not feel comfortable sending KYC and SoW documents to parties that I don't trust either.

A timeout on casino Y could be bypassed by going to casino X again. And if that does'nt have a public register of people who self-excluded (like crypto or rogue casino's) the end is not near at all really. It's looking very bad actually with the widespread of casino's and brands. You can blame the providers as well for designing games with a too high of a addict ratio. It's just live mousetraps your playing.

And casino's are the ones to blame too obviously. There's no account validation, you could litterally go with a alias inside any casino, spunk your complete salary and thats it. The country i play in has the requirement of going for account validation upfront before you can even play. I think this should be it for any casino, but they are not doing it because they make money on people who need their fix.

The self exclusion in like Canada or USA for example, is bullshit too. People can opt for self exclusion but are'nt checked upon entrance. They use facial recognition which works only 1/3rd of the time. A player who is disguised enough would bypass that. Upon playing and winning a handpay, the payout is being denied. But they took their money.

Go to holland, and at least the goverment controlled casino's do have a ID verification upon entrance. They have a system, they log how many times your in and they will take you apart when you start to show serious signs of problem gambling. Being excluded really means excluded. Your not coming in again. This model should really be applied to any online casino, because it's the only way it will be solved with on the long run.

As long as you have those rogue places and licenses that came with a package of butter, it wont change. 

I'm not sure if Belgium has exactly the same system, but it works alike.

I've been to several casinos in Holland and self-excluded myself there for a while after running into some legal issues with poker players as well. Even once you're back allowed in the casino they take you apart to have a conversation. They ask what you are doing for work and I can understand how some people might feel uncomfortable during those conversations. In the end they really help though, they even track you inside the casino so they know you, as a player are a possible risk for yourself.

That's the whole point though, with those casinos you know where your money is going and you know there are safety regulations about your personal information. Those aren't there for the most crypto-casinos, and that's a really really bad thing. 

I've been trying my best to set up a real gambling protection system to protect and help people with several gambling issues. Protection in some countries are good, but still not perfect, and some countries just have really really bad gambling protection. I've had people come up to me saying they just lost €10.000, imagine if these people join certain casinos.. That's going to end up really bad for some people, if not for most.
