Extra Chilli Slot - Hands-On Review - Big Time Gaming
Welcome to Mexico! Big Time Gaming introduces Bonanza 2, called Extra Chilli. The story goes, a tired worker in the Bonanza mines decided to retire and move south. In his bag he snuck some of the infamous gems and features from Bonanza and put them on display in a Mexican market stall. The game boasts with familiar features we would expect in bonanza 2, like Dual Reaction wheels, MegaWays, Insanely high volatility. Not only that, but you find a whole new system called V-Gamble, which makes it possible to gamble your feature spin, and the Buy-A-Bonus feature introduced in White Rabbit.
- Volatility : High
- RTP: 96.2%
The frame of the reels in Extra Chilli are presented as a Mexican market stall filled with spicy goodness like chillies and garlic. At the reels, we find BTG’s notorious card symbols, gemmed chillies in different colors with the same value per color as found in Bonanza.
For those of us still chasing the “D” in Bonanza, there’s some good news indeed. In Extra Chilli we don't need four scatters to get to the bonus round, but only three! Gold emblazoned "H," "O," “T” symbols trigger the feature spins!
One thing we can be sure of is sky-high volatility, the possibility of unlimited respins and multipliers during free-spins potentially granting huge winnings.
Feature Drop™, first introduced in White rabbit, will be available. Instead of paying up to 100x for a feature spin, you only have to pay up to 50x wager amount to activate the feature spin in Bonanza 2.
During the main game, Feature drop symbols may appear on any reels, reducing the price. The reduction is multiplied by the actual stake.
MegaWays™ is probably a bit better-known feature that you’ve seen plenty of times in Bonanza and other BTG titles over the last couple of years. - All reels come with a random number of symbols up to 7, enabling a whopping 117,649 ways to win!
We’ve seen a lot of recent monsters from StarQuest and Queen of Riches in just the last few days!
Other similarities you can expect to find is the cascading symbols. This now very well known feature, replaces winning symbols with the ones above, filling up the reels. Symbols will cascade until no further prizes are won. In this game it is called Reactions, similar to Bonanza. In addition, we also the now familiar DualReaction™ reel, which grants some extra prizes and special symbols during free-spins.
During free-spins the reactions grant a multiplier for each cascade.
The main feature in Extra Chilli is the free-spins.
- If the letters "H" "O" "T" lands on the reels, you will receive 8 spins.
- For every additional golden scatter symbol, you will receive another four spins.
- In addition, we find the normal wilds, which substitutes all symbols except Scatter.
- Wilds only appear on the extra reel.
During free-spins we might expect the to grant a multiplier for each cascade.
During the bonus rounds, you might be lucky and receive extra Free-spin scatters on the Extra Reel.
- Three scatters grants four spins
- Four scatters grant eight spins
BTG also teased with the possible power of controlling the volatility during the bonus rounds with their brand new V-Gamble™ system which means you can gamble your free spins to a whole new level that in turn will maximize the unlimited multipliers potential.
Our Thoughts on Extra Chilli
I'm loving this new slot from BTG. I like the fact that the Buy a bonus feature is cheaper than in White Rabbit, and that it's possible to collect symbols to push the price even further. With the free spin gamble feature, it's a pretty short way between eight to zero spins, and I would love to see another step between those two stages. -Especially when I have purchased the bonus. Now I just can't wait for the 4th of April to actually try this slot with my real money and get a real feel for the feature drop.
