Bonanza is a hard slot to discuss about without bias for it feels like it plays very differently each session. There has also been many times when the game is taken down for a small amount of time which raises the paranoid questions about "rigging". Kim usually tells about the new licenses they have to get which I believe, but we can't ever be too sure about it without official confirmation (I'm sure even small adjustments would benefit them in the long run which would be worth the license changes as well) but I wasn't going to talk about this that much. It's just a thing that comes to mind sometimes when the game feels colder than scandinavian summer. Instead, I wanted to share some things I've noticed about the game after playing it for countless of hours for many days. None of this is confirmed, but just first hand observation from a fan of the slot
Second Reel Curse
This one may be harder to notice especially when streaming, but it holds up ALMOST always. Whenever you get a win using the upper vertical reel, if the symbol that lands on the first place (second reel) is already on the same reel below, it will never be a winning symbol on the cascades following that. So if a queen lands on the second upper reel after the initial win and there's already a queen on the same reel below it, almost never does it appear on both left and right side of it in the upcoming drop downs. It does happen sometimes but extremely rarely, and when it does it feels like a different type of "win" in the game's outcome library - like a pseudo-randomly generated win instead of Enthropy-based random number generation. I've also noticed that on the bonus game this restriction is disabled which might be a reason the winning spins are more frequent overall during the bonus.
Surrogate Symbols
Often times after a spin you end up feeling like "Wow, that was very close to greatness that spin" when you see many of the same symbols but not producing a win because of one reel. I've taken notice that more than often instead of the winning symbol needed it lands another symbol there with same color. These include:
Random and more out there observations (not confirmable or too small sample sizes)
Playing a game for longer time you start to focus on different things that might or might not have an affect on the gameplay. So most of these notions may sound super far-fetched, but might have a seed of truth in them. For example computers internal clock time among other things may be used to calculate RNG used in slots because "natural" Enthropy is impossible calculate with small computing power.
Whenever I've played Bonanza during night, the game has been much, much colder with base game wins and bonuses have been sparse. I've tried it during basically all waking hours and the fastest and more several bonuses have come during 15-17 pm (GMT +2).
I've gotten GOLD +5 drops EXACTLY one hour apart from each other with time stamps (16:32 and 17:32).
It's possible to get gold + 5 with the initial drop, but it is impossible to get more than two scatters on the cascades at once.
Good base game win when getting the bonus doesn't seem to have an effect on the quality of the bonus - they have ranged from almost dead free spins to 350x in my cases. In general it doesn't seem to take that into account whether you get all of them at once, one by one and so on.
Sometimes when the game has felt very cold with payouts and you get the bonus, it feels like it is continuing the trend and these bonuses have been quite bad. I always think of this as a sign to stay away for a while when the BTG vacuum is on.
The way the game pays feels like it comes in waves of a number of dead spins, few more than 1x wins quite close to each other and then number of dead spins again. This "number" tends to vary from 2 to 6 spins.
It is possible to get bonus right after one - this has happened to me once. Both actually paid decently, first one being 100x and second one almost 300x!
Here's at least what I remembered to write down, I might add some notions if I forgot something. I just felt like spitballing some ideas to you guys - a lot of this is to do with superstitions as well which ends up being the case with a lot of gamblers, but in the end it's part of the fun right?
Anway, happy spinning!
