SMS spam from affiliates

Hi BTGKinG,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

As I'm sure you can appreciate, we work with many affiliates and we have quite specific contracts in place with them, as soon as we become aware that they have breached the contract we take immediate action.

Therefore we would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention as this will enable us to take adequate action.

On behalf of LeoVegas we would like to apologise for the affiliate's actions.

I wish you a lovely weekend ahead.
@LeoVegas_Support

Happy to help. i am sorry i did not make it clear in my previous post, i am of course 100% sure this spam did not come directly from Leovegas. But this was just so bad for your reputation, spelling errors and false information "you still have money in your account 11000 kr. I think i would remember if i had 11000 kr in my account ?.

The last message was almost written like a threat "this is your last warning claim your money now before it is to late" So when i saw the affliate link i thought i would share it so that the person does not make any money out of his/her scam. I have also given this information direct to leovegas in denmark. Thanks for the respons, make me happy that you take stuff like this serious.

The example from @BTGKinG just show how far some affiliates are willing to go to get their commission. I'm glad you posted it, so people can see what to stay away from. People get tricked into stuff like this and other frauds every day (and im not talking only about casino affiliates). The reason they keep doing it, is because it works! It's hard to prevent people from getting fraud, but what we can do is to stop them from the purpose: take away their affiliate commission.

I have no clue about the terms for each affiliate agreements, but what exactly will happen to this affiliate @LeoVegas_Support ? Will he/she get a warning? Will the affiliate contract get terminated? Will he/she loose all commission? How can we be sure this affiliate won't trick someone else into this fraud?

Thumbs up to LeoVegas for at least taking action!

Today, unfortunately Frank & Fred Casino joins the list of casinos that is involved with this DI** of a person. How can you allow people doing illegal spam like this? I'm already a customer at this casino, and if i get another SMS offer on your casino from this person i will terminate my account at Frank & Fred immediately. Make sure this doesnt happen again @FrankFred Casino or its GOODBYE.

PS! dont bother PM me asking for my number so my number can be removed from his list. obviously that doesnt help anyway. How you going to make sure he doesnt spam me again is your problem.

This is the affiliate link:

Hi pausefisk,

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

As you probably are aware, we work with multiple different partners which unfortunately means we cannot know exactly what these partners are doing at all times. They have however signed up with our partner program, where they accepted our terms, and obviously spamming is strictly prohibited. When a partner is found in breach of our agreement, either by us noticing it or, as in this case when players report it we take action.

Once again we'd like to thank your for bringing this to us, and also apologise for the any inconvenience caused!

This fu**face strikes back with another SMS spam today, and now its a brand new casino (at least for me).

Link goes to https://start.duelz.com/no/?programme=aff&source=netrefer&btag=654598_718532654BF84B9FB6B7222AC57D3B54

I tried to check homepage so i could talk with chat or something, but there is absolutely NO info about who operated this site, and no info about lisences nor contact information. You need to press the register button to get into the signup page where the terms and condition can be found. Just to make sure it's even harder to undersand they have used the worst font possible to read. Seriously....

Under the terms you find some info about the site:

1.1. These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as “T&Cs”) regulate the usage of the games provided through www.Duelz.com, as well as other URLs licensed to or belonging to SuprPlay Limited, including NYSpins and VoodooDreams

In my first post, Voodoo Dreams was already among the casinos that allowed this shithead to spam me, and their respons was to take this seriously, but that must be the biggest joke since they still keep him/her as an affiliate and allow this person to keep spamming.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE CASINOS!!!!!!!

Duelz only launched today (less than 4 hours ago for affiliates) - this spammer is quick off the mark!

I found the e-mail i got last time i contacted http://suprnation.io/ regarding their affiliate that spammed me. This is the reply i got from them:

I guess they don't care after all... I will contact Erik Hedberg again and ask what he thinks about his own effort in this matter.

The number behind *btag_654598_* is the same as mine, but the rest is different. I'm not sure if this is the same affiliate or not, but if this account has been closed you shouldnt recieve any more SMS from this account as it would be useless.

However, i suggest you make a complaint using the contact form at http://suprnation.io/

Make sure you ask for a confirmation back what action has been taken against the affiliate.

Let us know how it goes!

After a long period without any spam, i thought mabye "my campain" against the unknown spammer might just work, but today it started again.

Now 21.com casino is involed with such people, and automaticly added to my banned casino list. I hope you guys do that aswell. I'll try to reach out to them too see if they have a good answer and how they will act. If i get a reply, i will update.

Not a good start, my e-mail to 21.com was sent back to me:

Error Details

Reported error:550 5.1.10 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipientNotFound; Recipient support@21.com not found by SMTP address lookup

DSN generated by:VI1PR03MB3901.eurprd03.prod.outlook.com

is 21.com just a scam?

I'll bring this thread to their attention as we have contacts.

Hi.

Pausefisk, I think you are overreacting when you say "involved with such people" and "is 21.com just a scam"? Really, it's beyond their control.

Each MGA-licensed (as well as UKGC) operator will take appropriate action once they're made aware of affiliates who don't play by the rules.

The biggest and more serious affiliates are big because they treat their business right. However, as in any other market where there is money - there are bad apples.

These bad apples shy nothing when it comes to making a quick buck, including SMS-spam. The casinos don't give their partners personal details of players. In most cases, this personal info is collected somewhere, and then put in a list.

That's the reality of today; money and data talks. If you're an active player, who's got a lot of registered accounts due to signing up via third party sites here and there throughout the years, you are more likely to experience spam.

A prime example being leaving your e-mail address to sign up to a newsletter in exchange for free spins (example) on a non-operator website. That's enough for a crook to look up the name associated with your e-mail (not saying you did). With all the public records avail. in Norway, it doesn't take them long to find a phone number associated with your name.

The aforementioned list is curated, and then sold / traded between other bad apples. If one bad apple buys an affiliate website from another, one of the new owners perquisites are the details of the players that signed up with the past owner.

This activity is illegal, and in no way encouraged or condoned by any serious operator, including their partner programs.

Collection of personal details could also be the results of social engineering, or phising. SMS spam is also completely random at times, simply due to demographics, and much more difficult to attribute an origin. The best way to combat e-mail spammers however is to sign up with 1 unique email pr. operator. If - and once - you get the spam, you know something fishy is going on either via the affiliate, or the operator itself.

You not being able to send an e-mail to their address could be due to an outage on your end, or theirs. A MGA-listed company with employees isn't automatically a scam, same as DNB in Norway is not a scam despite having problems with "Evry", experiencing outages in the past.

I've hunted these bad apples for 12 years. Thanks to GDPR, a lot of shady affiliates have been slammed hard. Some even never got back up again, because they took a serious beating. Unfortunately, most of these are small time crooks, that's looking for a quick buck - and small time crooks are persistent fucks.

Let us know how it goes, and have yourself a great day.

Yes, i might overreact a bit (posted and written in anger). However, should the Casinos be exempt from their responsibility? It would not be OK if the Casino sendt me this SMS, and i mean it shouldnt be different just because that SMS came from another person. I dont know how the verification process are when affiliates gets a deal, but i belive this has potential to be better. I sure know that this SMS was out of their Control, but should it be out of their responsibility? And if they have no Control over their affiliates, then what?

There are still many Casinos i've contacted regarding SMS spam, but havent bothered replaying me back. I'm not familiar With 21.com so when my e-mail was rejected i wondered if this was a scam site, and asked the forum instead of spending time to investigate myself.

I have a policy that Casino's that doesnt have "Control over their Affiliates" is a Casino i do not want to play at. Simple as that. If everyone could follow that, we would no longer have this spamming problem. In the end, it's the Casinos fault, as they offer affiliate deals.
