Beware: Incorrecly paid wins and provider can't do anything about it (malfunction/maintenance)

So I won a feature on an Amusnet slot but apparently maintenance started same second and due to the maintenance feature never finished and I was paid the win only from trigger.

Response from Amusnet:

The supplier had advised that the session was closed because it was active when their maintenance started. When Amusnet maintenance procedure starts, all unfinished sessions are automatically finished by the system. In such cases, the players are paid out the winnings according to the result that is already known and the unused free spins are lost. There is no way to predict the outcome of the unfinished free spins, but Amusnet assures you that the winnings from the completed Free Spins are accurate.

Now I am just asking how is this even possible? I thought all wins are already "paid" and the feature itself is a visual presentation not affecting winnings. But by this answer it doesn't seem so. My wins were lost indefinitely it seems.

I was taught the same "rule" many years ago.. But a few years ago I learned that it's not the case for some slots or providers.

I can't remember where or how and I'm not 100 on this.

Sorry that you lost the remaining feature.. was it a big bet / is that generally a good bonus?

I understand you, I've been in the same situation, which upset me greatly. What was the bet and how many free spins did you lose?
