Hi,First time poster and newly registered but long time reader of this forum and site for information and insights.I was wondering if anyone could advise me here?I’ve recently identified that I need to stop and have stopped gambling. After initial wins, the inevitable losses and then the chase which leads to more losses etc.I signed up for Nitro Casino on Wednesday last and deposited and proceeded to lose.

Lost more than I should have and contacted live chat and asked for an indefinite self exclusion.

I was asked why and I stated that I had lost too much money. The account was closed and I was sent an email saying as much and that Betpoint group promotes responsible gambling and links to help etc.The following morning, I woke up in a panic over my losses. I foolishly registered for a sister Betpoint casino (JustSpin) of the site I had lost on the night before, that was part of the same group.

Same email address, actually the exact same details for registration. I say this as any automated or manual check on email, date or birth etc  on a new account signup would show that this player and those credentials are after self Excluding indefinitely due to obvious problems by the nature of their choice to self exclude for the reason of losing too much money. After registering on JustSpin I deposited and started playing and proceeded to lose 3x the previous nights losses. I spoke with and confided in a friend who investigated and suggested as I had self excluded from the sister site and the group the night before I should say this to them to see if they would consider any refund forallowing a self excluded player to play again.

So, I did just that on live chat and was told that self exclusions don’t transfer to sister casinos and that when I self excluded I didn’t identify as a problem gambler.

I said that self exclusion and the reason given “I lost too much money” would inherently suggest this is a problem gambler and surely they would have some responsibility to prevent registration, depositing and playing of someone who self excluded.

I wasn’t asked any other questions when self excluding, I asked to self exclude indefinitely and then was asked why, I have the response as I had lost too much money. Betpoint then sent an email saying they are responsible gambling advocates, yet they make no effort to prevent problem gamblers signing up with them even after self excluding from their sister sites, unless...the problem gambler has the foresight to say I am a problem gambler. Choosing to self exclude indeifnitely for losing too much money evidently isn’t a strong enough hint. I would mention, under any test or assumption, indeifntne self exclusion for losing too much money is by its very definition problem gambling. Just ask the user that question if they are going to be this asinine about it.I have self excluded from the second site now. And I realise what an idiot I have been. My question is, do I have any recourse here?My friend told me that if you have self excluded and for instance you had won, the casino would be in their rights to refuse to pay and return deposits because you had self excluded at a sister casino and that in my case the opposite is true also.Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks. I have stopped and sought help and know and understand the perils of gambling and have stopped. Looking for advice on this is all, thanks.

I do hope that Betpoint made a mistake here, but if this is their policy it truly is shameful.

as I said I know I did wrong, I have admitted my problem and am dealing with it. The predatory nature though of taking someone who self excluded with you after they requested indefinite self exclusion due to losing too much money and offering them the opportunity to gamble and lose more is awful in my opinion.

I'm sure when you would've won they weren't going to pay you because you self excluded on their sister site yeah. I hope you get your deposits back, but I don't give it much of a chance to be honest.

New user name and different casino group, but other than that this is about the 50th near identical thread I have read this year.

Hey man. Sorry for your losses. But man, you are truly a problem gambler. You should NEVER ever touch a slot again.. Jesus man, you wake up in panic and what comes to your mind is to chase losses? Im saying this as a friendly advice, NEVER gamble again in your life you can't handle it.

Thanks everyone.

I sought therapy and was doing good until December 23rd.

I registered with 21.com, another betpoint casino like nitro and justspin from earlier in this thread.

gambled and lost again.

contacted 21.com and told them about my problem gambling and that I had self identified with betpoint twice before and received a refund after the justspin experience.

my account with 21.com was closed. I did continue to up to and including today to revive marketing promotional emails from 21.com which was wrong enticing me to gamble even though it was now the third time I had self excluded with betpoint.

21.com also declined to issue a refund and said that I didn’t use the self help tools on 21.com. Hard to when your a problem gambler and you had the account for all of a day.

I replied as I am concerned that betpoint allowed me as problem gambler to register yet again with them using the same email, phone, address etc

it’s obvious they make no effort to prevent problem gamblers from re registering as even a simple script would catch this. They literally do not enforce the policy at all, if they did a self excluded problem gambler with them who they refunded for allowing them to open a second account was this time allowed to open a third account with the same details and refused a refund.

back in therapy and still receiving promotional mails from 21.com, latest was this morning.

find their behaviour pretty poor and will take this to the regulator. Operators need to be forced to enforce a responsible gambling policy for self excluded gamblers, allowing them to continue to open accounts without even basic checks to stop it if the same email is used on another of their sites or same number or name and date of birth etc

wanted to share and if anyone else is in trouble just stop it never ends well and you end up in pointless emails and having to go to regulators as the operators don’t care and have no intention of encforcing responsible gambling policies

If you live in the UK, register with GamStop immediately, that will bar you from playing on any licensed casinos. Other than that, do seek help immediately, because this will never end. Believe me. It will not. I've said long ago that the EU should have one database where problem gamblers can register, so that all Malta/UK etc. licensed operators could see and identify problem gamblers. But it is what it is.

Not in the uk Unfortunately.

Agree on the shared database, you would think betpoint would operate on on their casinos at least but they don’t care and they’ll take problem gamblers who have self excluded with them before and take their money. Amazing they refunded the second time it happened but won’t the third, such inconsistency and flagrant lack of regard for their operator responsibilities as far as responsible gambling goes

Further reply off Betpoint, they have declined to refund and not provided any evidence of any effort to enforce responsible gaming as an operator to prevent known problem and self excluded players of betpoint from signing up with them.

disgraceful lack of  support or enforcement of responsible gaming by them. Truly shocking company behaviour. Referring the case to third party and will take it further and legal as the principle is most appalling of their lack of compliance or governance

What's wrong with using gamstop or gamban then ul automatically be banned, zero pity here as ur asking for trouble signing up when u have a problem, ppl need to take responsibility for there own actions and stop crying and blaming casinos when they loose, learn the hard way!! They will give you ur money back then ul sign up to another casino and then we'll see u on here crying again next week, does my head in, reap what you sow
