I have been streaming slots for some time now and the other day someone in the chat says I should put up a begambleware logo/banner on my stream because it is against uk law to do otherwise. Never really heard of this rule before, does it apply to uk residents or even when you are not but have uk viewers? How should I know where my audience is from and what the local laws require me to do?

Just think it is a bit strange. Who knows more about this?

I'd personally just put it up covers you then & also if any person from any country who's watching doesn't know what that is and they google it, find out its a help for gamblers, maybe they'll get some help from their own country if needed. put a small logo symbol in it not sure it's law check UKGC rules.

There are no laws covering what you must or must not do in the UK for streaming. At present it is entirely unregulated.

There are rules around advertising. There are terms and conditions of your streaming platform providers. But other than that it's the wild wild west and one of those odd situations where the law is well behind the technology.

I believe Germany recently made a decision to classify streamers as radio broadcasters but that might be stalled in terms of legal challenges.
