Hello this is a general email i am sending to organisations to try and combat issues with the online gambling industry and any feedback or response would be appreciated and like wise any good feedback i receive i will pass onto the UK gambling commission and the secretary of state department for media and culture in the UK and the relevant media organisation i am currently talking to. 
 
As a problem gambler myself for many years I have seen the online gambling industry grow and grow into the monster it is today. The biggest issue there is for any problem gambler is the self exclusion process needs to be fully changed, You can self exclude yourself from all land based bookmakers regardless of what company they are so you are unable to bet in a Ladbrooks or a william hill etc but online it is all individual company's. If the online industry and UK gambling commission could come up with a system that lets you have the option to self exclude or even a cool off period for say 12 months from ALL online gambling company's in one simple process this would be a massive step forward. So there would be a data base which all online company's operating in the UK would have to check before allowing a new account to be set up on there site. 
 
The process now just doesn't work as what you do when you realise you have lost all that money again ! is self exclude from the individual site/company but a week later your back on the internet looking for new company's you can sign up to and yet again lose more money and the process goes on and on ! until you are broke. 
 
When you sign up to a casino there is never any process to check if you have or have had a gambling problem, they dont even want your ID until you want to withdraw any winnings ! then you have to sometimes wait up to 5 days to be verified and yes guess what all that money you were going to withdraw has been pumped back into the casino, Some casinos to be fair are now offering a immediate withdrawal process with a lock option so you cant lose your winnings and put it back into the casino when your waiting for it to be processed. But this should be standard practice to all online casinos. 
 
From reading the recent BBC report regarding online gambling issues i do agree that the company's or staff have no idea how to pick up on problem gambling, I had a account at video slots (1 of many over the years and this comment is not exclusive to video slots there all as bad) where my set monthly limit was £200 a month i had spent all of that and then changed it to £3300 I only had to wait 7 days and then pumped £3000 into the casino and lost the lot with no questions asked surely this would alert some people that this person is not acting normally and has a problem. 
 
I know in the media the FOBT (fixed odds betting terminals) get a bad name but trust me they are nothing compared to the damage online gambling and in my case online slots gambling can have on individuals, I picked up on the media reporting that a FOBT roulette spin can cost £100 every 20 seconds that is nothing to online roulette you can bet on some sites £10,000 a spin yes £10,000 a spin !!! on the FOBT machines playing slots the general max stake is £2 with a maximum pay out of £500, online slots there are slot games which accepts up to £500 a spin !! It is in a completely different league with the potential to lose thousand and thousand of pounds in a matter of minutes. 
 
Which takes me onto my final point which no one has picked up in the media yet (hopefully i can change this) is the rise of the casino affiliate marketing boom, Online casino streamers using you tube and twitch, They are affiliates for the casinos and spend hours streaming and posting gambling content online with links in there adverts getting there vulnerable watchers to sign up to the casinos they are promoting. Posting there big wins online making people think its actually possible to win ! In my opnion this has to be looked into as it is predatory behavior and needs to be fully regulated or in my opinion stopped completely. They make there money by getting people to sign up to these casinos and then make more money when they lose it is such immoral behavior. Below is the list of the main online casino affiliate streamers that people in the UK get persuaded into signing up to through their links. Not to mention the irresponsible promoting of gambling for hours after hours every day and night ! . (on you tube and twitch)

Yes streamers offer links to casino's and they make a bit of money from people who use those links and deposit, Some of us win and most of us loose but hey its a gamble. You say you have a gambling problem then why the hell are you watching streamers? that will never help your addiction it will only give you hope that you might one day get a win again. I love watching most of the guys you have mentioned not all some are arrogant and sneaky I wont way who, I have only used one link from nickslots I got the 200 free seeds and continued to have a great run I even beat him in a few races playing minimum bets I cashed out the great sum of around £100 without deposit then never went back to the site. You see I am what is called a no deposit hunter, I actively search casino's for no deposit bonuses whether its a few pounds or a few spins I will take the offer play it if I win good if I dont then its still good as it has cost me nothing. I probably have a bigger addiction than you will ever know in your life you say you spent £3000 in one month well tough luck bud thats your problem. not mine or anyone else yours alone. I think you would have much better luck trying to get all the governments to stop the internet as in your way of thinking is they offer good stuff you take it and lose doesnt that apply to everything the web has to offer? sex drugs music porn (

This will bring immediate relief to problem gamblers in the UK. This will work as I have seen it in action and is backed by three companies who deal with RG. There is no way around it, once you're excluded that's it.

I disagree with the majority of the names you have listed. Every streamer from CasinoGrounds meets the required guidelines on promoting RG and I know entertainment for the viewer means more to them then making money from you and me.

A problem gambler will sign up to a casino whether they see an streamer promoting it or not. How can you blame the streamer over an individuals desire to gamble?

I for one always sign up to a new casino through a streamer if I'm not already a player there. Afterall, I'd perfer it goes in their pocket than the casinos as a thank you for the entertainment they provide!

 
For a start, there is going to be a global self exclusion database called Gamstop so the second paragraph is redundant and shows a lack of research by the OP which is rather strange if they are to be serious about the issue.

Secondly, as has been said above, as a problem gambler you should not be watching gambling material on social media nor should you be hanging around on forums such as these that not only discuss gambling, but also show big win videos and pictures. Remember that ANY big win video (whether produced by an affiliate or not) can prompt a problem gambler to make a deposit they can't afford.

In the list of example channels, the OP mentions Stop and Step. He long ago stopped streaming.

And then the OP forgot about the hundreds, if not thousands of other channels that show big win videos only. What about those channels? Should they not be banned too? Or should only those channels that have affiliation links be banned?

And finally, the OP should look in the mirror and blame the person that he sees for his gambling problems and make use of the tools available to stop / control this problem. Self exclude from all casinos for a start.

And the final free tip: if you delete your Twitch and Youtube accounts, then clear all of your internet cache and flash cache ( use CCleaner - it is free https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download ) you will never get accidentally across any gambling channel unless you actively search for it or you search for gambling related content.

 
I think the one main point you are missing here is that anyone with an addiction.....must want to stop themselves and can only help themselves.

Streamers, affiliates, etc, do NOT force people to watch their videos or sign up through their links. Much like an alcoholic doesn't walk past a bar/wineflair and the owner flag them in to buy beer, etc. 

I agree however that there is something more that can be done, but blaming streamers and banning them isn't it. The GAMStop introduction is a good start.

 
Looks like you are a bad gambler and looking for an excuse to blame someone else :)  you wouldn't complain if u had a big win?....

 
Posts like this always strike me as people looking to shift blame elsewhere instead of taking responsibility for their own actions.

 
Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply, Gambling addition is a mental health problem and if only it were that easy to look in a mirror and stop, The first step forward for a problem gambler is to admit they have a problem.   This was posted on here as i knew i would get some good feedback as i want stories from both sides to pass on. Neither the gambling addict or the casino industry is fully to blame but there is more than can be done to help gambling addition in the UK and other countries. The introduction of the GAMSTOP will be a massive step forward if it works and hopefully all the streamers will promote this in there content and adverts as much as they promote their links and offers when it comes out.

I don't recall ever seeing streamers being allowed to stream responsible alcohol drinking on line ? with links to get deals on cheap alcohol if they sign up through there links, You know as much as i do this wouldn't be accepted in society so why different for gambling ? 

alcohol adverting is now heavily regulated and this is what im pushing for, more regulation for online gambling content. 

do agree though about the GAMSTOP if it works. 

 
Ok, i notice that none of the replies really reply to the issue OP is trying to focus on, where he begins with "Which takes me onto my final point ...". In my opinion, this post was about the increase of affiliations in streaming (and not only the gambling issue).

Trough streaming casinos can reach new customers in a way they could not before. We've seen this works pretty well recently. My best example is how all of a sudden a brand new casino, Highroller, is top listed on CG, and the streamers (listed as CG streamers) now play on Highroller. I belive this is not a coincident, and a proof of how the streaming business (yes, i now call it business, read more later) can help a casino grow faster/bigger. Even though the streamers have a calm way of promoting, and is not acting agressive, they are still working for the casino they are promoting, in a way. It's a win-win deal for both the streamer and the casino (and sometimes you aswell) when you signup trough their link.

We've also learned lately that Leovegas has bough 51% shares of the company behind CG, and paid 30 mill SEK. CG's incoming 3rd quarter 2017 around 4 mill SEK. This is why i call it streaming business. It's no secret that this community has become a profitable business for the people behind, with Letsgiveitaspin as frong figure. How the earnings are shared i know nothing about, but when LeoVegas find it a good business to pay 30 mill SEK for shares in CG, you know this is already profitable.

The question OP is asking. Is this OK? Or should this be stopped.

If yes, you would also need to stop a whole lot of others similar stuff. Let's take a look into bloggers/vloggers, who is making tons of money by using and promoting products. People spend their cash on products they dont really need, but because some famous blogger/youtubers is using it, they need it aswell. The suppliers and stores have used this way to their end users in a long time already. Should they be banned aswell?

When Nike or Puma is paying a footballplayer millions a year for playing with their boots... should this be banned aswell?

I know those things hardly can lead to a gambling problem, but the way to reach and fight for the consumers money, is still the same. There are tons of casinos out there, all fighting for your money, and trough streamers are probably the best way to promote, as trough a footballer or bloggers for other companies want to sell their services/products.

Personally i dont think you can stop the streaming business. In fact, i belive it's going to grow even more. Legally i think its impossible to ban streamers, unless you remove peoples freedom to speech. What do worries me, is the independed community beeing taken over by commercial interests. I think people should be more aware of this. I know Letsgiveitaspin has been questioned a lot of times if he works for LeoVegas, as he clearly states "no", but after they invest in CG i think he should be more honest about this, because indirectly he might be. I dont know what his answer will be after this, mabye he will comment on that, @LetsGiveItASpin

I need to end this post by saying i love to watch the streamers, wheter they are affiliated or not. It's fun, it's entertaining, and i dont care who's cash thats in their balance. We can watch new slots, get to know more about how slots and gambling works etc. I think they give you something you cant "google". If the streamers manage to success and make a business of it (like a blogger or youtuber) i think they have the right to success and in best case make a living out of it, cause if they do, they have done so many things right and probably worked hard.

I don't "work" for any of casinos you see on my stream. The casinos are all ones I'd play (and play) off stream, as it is my opinion that they are among the best. When I pick casinos the process is first to establish that they are a solid and reputable operation, that is generous towards those who play there, pay in a timely manner and have fair bonus terms. If all that checks out I then check and negotiate what extras and benefits my stream viewers can get for playing there.

If the offer is something I think really makes a difference to my viewers, I often start playing there. No other party than myself has any say in where I play. This has always been the case and is still the case after LeoVentures investment in Casinogrounds.

Clearly, being an affiliate, I benefit from as many viewers as possible playing at the casinos I play at. This, however, goes hand in hand with only playing brands that are really good. In my opinion this is still a win for everybody - the casinos and myself get more activity, the viewers get more benefits and are playing at brands they can be sure to be treated fairly at.

As for the problems relating to gambling I always encourage people to play responsible and within their own limits. On the few brands I stream from it's usually a click of a button and you can exclude/limit yourself, which is also something I think is extremely important for responsible gaming. If one is looking to make as much money as possible it would be better to push as many brands as possible, with poor terms and inefficient RG features - that far too many casinos today offer. Something I would never ever do.

Rocknrolla didnt want his videos on the casinogrounds weekly winners video because he didnt want anyone to think he was winning at slots.

Streamers are gaining off peoples losses so that alone is bad enough.

@Nicola u are very naive if u think it will work, u can gamble with bitcoin with no id.  Also all sportsbooks based in Panama etc wont be signed up for this.

@LetsGiveItASpin I enjoy your streams and I think you are a great guy but at the end of the day a youtube page full of big wins is making vulnerable people think u can win playing slots.

@Slotplayer I think u know as well as I do its gonna get worse and worse for UK streamers.  More and more people are just not accepting streamers claiming responsible gambling then doing 2 grand bonus buys on white rabbit.

I think i may do a vlog at some point alluding to some of the questions and comments raised here.

@Ban online casinostreaming - you talk about the casino affiliate marketing boom. Online gambling and casino affiliation has been around for years and years, if anything its a massively declining business for affiliates. Even operators are closing there affiliate programme due to regulatory issues and resource/cost factors. However, affiliate through streaming is certainly a new niche ( over the last year or so and growing ). Like any industries there are always new trends, in marketing the same applies. Streaming is hot right now, in a few years it may be something else. If you take your view that it should be 'regulated or stopped completely' then you effectively have to do that with EVERY source of affiliate marketing, including websites, offline print radio, tv and sponsorship deals which promote gambling. THIS IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

Yes affiliates make money by getting customers to sign up via there links, much like all forms of advertising/marketing in the gambling sector.

Streamers are a tiny tiny fish in the big pond and have a tiny and insignificant impact on the gambling niche. If you want to vent then take aim at football clubs paying multi million pound betting sponsorship deals and tv for advertising during every live game. This is reaching people who have literally no interest in betting. At least with streamers its targeting and appealing to people who want to watch them.

I hear what you are trying to say and where you are coming from but unfortunately i don't agree.

It is fair to have the opinion thats its morally wrong to be an affiliate - but then the same would apply to so many things in life, even down to a local store keeper selling cigarettes or alcohol.

Finally @LetsGiveItASpin - Do you intend or have any plans to discuss the Leo ventures deal in any more detail on any vlog / stream or blog post or would you rather keep that more under wraps? Its really interesting for other streamers so would be great to hear more about it.

Appreciate the feedback and do agree with some of the points you have raised. How ever there are a few where i don't

Gambling advertising in my opinion should fall under the Health and socially acceptable category like alcohol advertising, fast food advertising and until it was banned funny enough tobacco advertising  and Gambling advertising  of all forms should fall in the same tight advertising regulations as these products (how it isn't is unbelievable). How ever you have quite correctly pointed out that every single game of football we see yet another advert for "gambling"  it is getting out of hand and the whole Industry needs to change.

The streamers in my opinion dont promote responsible gambling in any way, £9K on a roulette spin, £2000 white rabbit bonus, videos of max stake novomatics £50 a spin !! £30K bonus hunt (what the fuck) I could go on and on, and posting individual big win videos with pinned links to there amazing new casino sign up now !! (not even the main stream casino advertising allows this) There are a lot of things that need to change.

The damage that can be done by this type of advertising is pretty scary.  The streamers on twitch/youtube dont seem to understand that say for example an 18 year old who has never gambled comes across nickslots or slotspinners youtube pages.  They see big win after big win after big win.  They are going to think slots can be beat and it could encourage them to open accounts through affiliate links.

And how is that 18 year old that never gambled come across Nickslots or Slotspinner on Youtube? I will answer the question for you - not accidentally because you will need to do a search for either their names or some gambling term.

As for the last paragraph - why the insults?
