This isn't a rant about losing money constantly because I understand RNG and RTP and luck and all that, however...

This thread is mainly due to @Nolimit City Official provider.

Over the years I've had some huge NLC hits and some decent wins and I'll forever still play NLC slots but the bug for me is pure greed in terms of how much some super bonuses cost now days with the stupid god modes, huge 3,000x 4,000x, 5000x, 6000x bonus buys are costing and it's highly soul destroying when you buy a 6,000x bonus and get 500x back because even on lowest bet size $0.20 - $1,200 for Kenneth super buy.

I'm spinning more in base game now to cut costs and have better gameplay time but triggering them super bonuses will be near on impossible, I do like the super action spins thing tho.

If you go back before @Evolution Gaming Official bought @Nolimit City Official the games were fun to play, cheaper but now since the takeover games are crap, expensive etc.

It seems to me like they've also run out of ideas because they are cloning old games with a second release verison of it.

@Big Time Gaming official was the best provider many years ago then they destroyed their brand with shit games and selling to Evo, seems like NLC did the same and games have gone shite are Evo becoming greedy for all?

Yes I understand I don't HAVE to buy it, but where will the line be drawn? Fast forward it's 2030..

There are other providers who are starting to charge high bonus buys also.

 
i don't understand the "slots are cheap" vs "slots are expensive" over time debate as slots run a math model with a reported RTP.  Due to the increased volatility of modern slots, many more people are being unlucky (and more people are being VERY lucky) as the volatility would suggest. So it's totally possible you are just consistently being unlucky..

Although i do agree that the large format bonus buys are ridiculous for 99.9% of people (due to the bet size issue), it is just an inflated bet size running a math model similar to a base game spin (for example). I'm not sure if that's greed or who knows, but i do agree it feels weird to put that much money down for such little action..

@Joofy, your point about the RTP and the math models behind it is valid, but it misses the core issue. The problem isn't just volatility—it's the escalating cost of super bonuses and the overall trend towards greed (which appears more aggressive post-Evolution acquisition). Charging 3,000x-6,000x for bonus buys exploits players, pushing them towards unsustainable spending just for the sake of "FOMO". This isn't about luck; it's about predatory practices prioritising profit over player experience. So I agree @ryans_slots let's call it what it is: corporate greed.

 
How i see all these crazy bonus buys is twofold - First, it's a great marketing tool to give all of the burgeoning streamer market that support casinos, and secondly it taps into the increasing high roller market. There's enough people privately betting streamer style with their own actual money that it's definitely worth offering the option. 

To their credit, all games do still offer variety of cheaper priced buys, so you're only being forced out the very top end of the buy range, although it does then bring into play the question of what's their relative value & what's available to achieve, as that could potentially render some buys pointless and/or seem unfair.

The casinos strategy has changed from the long run slower over time collecting profit to the big chunk, big betting money grab. Totally aimed at whales for the faster buck.

I would love to see the profit margins and turnover over time comparisons from past years to now. Bet it's a big difference. I mean overall casinos say the slot providers full disclosure. If anyone knows where I/we can see these could you post links please. Then and now comparison would be very interesting.😤
