Video Slot Review – Archangels: Salvation - Netent
Welcome to the epic battle between heaven and hell. Welcome to Archangels: Salvation. This Netent release harbour six reels, 12 rows, and a whopping 100 fixed pay lines! Find Free Spins, Wild Substitutions, and two different wild features.
With an RTP of 96.08% and a fairly moderate Volatility you can expect some feature triggers throughout your session, but to get to the proper wins, you have to get those free-spins triggered.
Design and Symbols
The first thing you are presented with when opening Archangels: Salvation is the angel and demon on each their side of the reels.
During your spins, you might see them waving their wand about granting some extra wins or features. The duo is also the highest paying symbols. The medium symbols all stay true to the theme, while the lower paying symbols are all card faces. The soundtrack probably reminds you of the last epic battle between good and evil. Who will win? Let us hope it is you! Other slots with a magical theme can be for example Adelia the Fortune Wielder from Foxium
As mentioned, there are three different Wilds in Archangels: Salvation, all activated by the same symbol. The standard Wild symbol is a golden lion with the letter “W” on it. During the main game, it will only appear as a 2x2 symbol, however, during the Heaven and Hell features, it will turn into several 1x1 symbols. While playing you will notice a red and blue area covering the bottom and top of your reels. These are the hot spots for the Heaven and Hell feature.
Heaven and Hell feature
Whenever a Wild symbol lands inside the hotspots, the Heaven or Hell features will be activated depending on where it lands.
[table id=17 /] Both features can be reactivated as soon as a wild symbol lands in either hell or heaven hotspots.
Scatter symbol and Free Spins
In addition to the hotspots, we do find another special feature in Archangels: Salvation; the free spins. They are triggered by the Scatter symbol, which is a 1x2 “S” symbol that can land on any reel. Get up to 25 spins by landing 6 scatters in one round. Other than granting additional free rounds, there’s not much going on during the free spins.
Our thoughts on Archangels: Salvation
The first thing we noticed when opening this new launch from Netent, was the beautifully designed table and symbols. Great animations, intro movie and sounds. That said, with a pretty mediocre volatility and some space between the features, the gameplay could have been more entertaining and rewarding.
Compared to other launches from Netent the last few years, it is clear they are on to something at least. Hopefully, we will see more of these huge symbol grids, but with a much higher volatility and excitement in the slots to come.
