Tiger's Glory Slot
Quickspin are largely known for their low variance, rec player friendly slots but they took a sharp turn with Tiger’s Glory, released in November 2018, and jumped headlong into the heady world of high volatility slots with this Roman Gladiator themed slot.
Played on a hefty 6x4 reel set up and using a 4096 ways to pay mechanic, Tiger’s Glory offers high variance action from €0.20 up to €100 a spin and boasts an RTP of 96.51%.
A free spin round with sticky wilds gives this slot massive potential which has been seen to pay out over 13,000x the stake during its initial testing phase.
Design & Symbols
The setting for Tiger’s Glory is the Coliseum in Ancient Rome, home of the Gladiators and their battles to the death against fellow warriors, and indeed wild animals. The sizeable game board is situated beneath a Roman Portico in front of the Coliseum with the symbols spinning on a sandstone background while an epic soundtrack accompanies play.
The low value symbols are taken by the standard 9 – A royals followed by four different Gladiators in combat, and the eponymous Tiger as the highest paying symbol, awarding 10x bet size for 6 on a pay path. Land 3 or more identical symbols on adjacent reels from left to right to record a win, except for the Tiger which awards wins for 2 or more on adjacent reels. A Laurel Wreath is the wild symbol and the scatter is a red circle reading BONUS.
As a high volatility game it’s the bonus round which is the holy grail for anyone playing Tiger’s Glory and it is one which can really pay out if lady luck is on your side. To trigger the free spins you will need to land 3,4,5, or 6 bonus scatters which will award you 7, 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively.
Enraged Tiger’s Free Spins Bonus
As a high volatility game it’s the bonus round which is the holy grail for anyone playing Tiger’s Glory and it is one which can really pay out if lady luck is on your side. To trigger the free spins you will need to land 3,4,5, or 6 bonus scatters which will award you 7, 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively. During the free spins round the Tiger symbols become scatter symbols in so far as they will pay out in any combination and do not need to be on adjacent reels, nor do they need to start from the leftmost reel.
Basically land 2 or more Tigers in any combination anywhere on the game board during free spins and you’ll be paid. Not only this but a second Tiger symbol is also introduced into play. This one has a red border and when he lands he will roar before taking on a Gladiator in battle. If the Tiger wins then that Tiger symbol will become sticky for the remainder of the spins. Also, during free spins you’ll notice a ‘+1’ appear above each of the six reels.
If the Tiger wins his battle then in addition to becoming wild the +1 above the reel in which the Tiger appears will drop and award an extra free spin – meaning that a total of 6 additional free spins can be won during the bonus round. If you start racking up those sticky Tiger symbols and extra free spins then the wins can really add up fast!
Our Thoughts on Tiger’s Glory
Fans of the usual low variance Quickspin slots beware – this game is not for the faint-hearted. With such huge potential wins on offer you can guarantee that there will be many, many dead spins before you get to send your Tigers into battle. Having said that, high variance slot fans ought to LOVE this new game.
Anytime you combine plenty of free spins with sticky jackpot symbols then you know this is a game which is going to deliver big wins. I enjoyed the theme, the design, the flow of the game, and I really, really enjoyed the bonus round. Top marks to Quickspin.
