Oceanus Rising is a mythical, underwater slot game set between the sunken pillars of a Roman temple. Released January 7th 2020, Oceanus Rising is one of Playtechs first releases of 2020. Unlike most slot games, Playtech designed Oceanus Rising to have a slightly different appearance to other slots and is made up of a 5 by 3 reel grid, which can expand to up to 7 reels.
The slot game starts with 30 paylines on a 5 by 3 reel grid. During each winning spin, the bar will rise one reel, increasing the number of paylines and the size of the slot gameboard. Playable from €0.10 up the maximum €500, this medium volatile slot comes with an RTP of 95.05%.
Design and Symbols
The slot game follows an underwater mythical theme, with ruins of a Roman building’s pillars either side of the reels and an ocean god who randomly makes an appearance on the reels.
Unlike most slots, Playtech designed Oceanus Rising to start with a minimum of 30 paylines which increases each time by 10 when you land a winning combination. The highest paying symbols consist of an Octopus, Ocean God, Sailing Ship, 2 knives crossing each other, a Gold coin with a ship on it and lastly a bronze dish with a purple and blue potion inside.
The lower paying symbols are the highest paying card suits which include; 10, J, Q, K and A.
The title of the slot Oceanus Rising may give you a clue as to what to expect when it comes to the special features. There is only one special feature in this slot game which is Rising Respins. To find out more continue reading below.
During your gameplay, at any time you land a winning combination, the Rising Respin will activate, awarding you with an additional free spin. As long as you keep landing winning combinations the feature will continue to rise up to a maximum of 7 reels high.
On the second, third, and fourth rising, a multiplier will be added. The first multiplier for you to reach is x2, on the third rise you will be greeted with an x3 multiplier and on the fourth rising, you will be awarded an x5 multiplier.
To round things up, I have to admit I was not incredibly impressed by this new slot game. The layout and design are rather simplistic and with no fun special features, there is nothing to really give you the desire to continue spinning.
For the first slot release from Playtech of 2020, I do not rate this slot to high at all and hope for the coming months they have something more exciting and pleasurable to keep us players entertained.
