casinos sportspromoting gambling on twitch / youtube same as promoting alcohol, tobacco...?
2 hours ago, slotsofun said:

You're viewing gambling from the point of a non-entertaining value and that is why your point if views are skewed.  Take Alcohol for example, Alcohol is a social/entertainment drink, which under correct use is a valuable asset for tax revenue and to the economy. It also has an age limit which (for most countries) is the same as gambling/smoking regulatory age. Kids/Teenagers see their parents take part in this ritualistic consumption whilst growing up, much the same as they would see their parents smoking whilst growing up, and probably gambling too. So, what you going to do about that? You can't do anything in reality....the costs to ANY economy in banning these things is frightening.

Teenagers drink and smoke well before it is legal for them to do so, that is human nature. They see sexual content and watch violent movies before it is legal for them to do so. All part of growing up. You're trying to bubble wrap the world from something that is probably in the range of 1% of all explicit or age related content on youtube/twitch? I see you really want to make a change to the world 😆.

One thing you could do is sort out your spelling and punctuation, it gave me a headache. Think kids need protection from seeing anything you type out.

Nice final sentence very orignal also.

I don't know the stance of other countries but In holland the goverment is going all-in on getting rid of smoking because the health care costs are starting to outweigh the tax revenues. There angle in doing this is by banning it from public spaces and changing the publics oppinion about smoking. It seems to be working although it is going slowly. I'm a smoker but at some places you just don't smoke because of the weird faces that will be pointing towards you.

Gambling addictions are on the rise also and this is slowly putting stress on the healthcare system. It is a form of entertainment yes but it is a dangerous one that is costing tax payers money. Twitch should add an age restriction on this content for starters just like you need to show ID at a liquor or cigar store when the seller has doubts. Now it's all up to the streamers and that would be fine if everyone informed there players like slotspinner but there not. Instead it's higher stakes, higher wins and the reality of gambling getting skewed with the minute.

Tell me why on earth roshtein is still able to stream on twitch? Is it just because it has not been proven yet?

I always say the same regarding this topic, if there is a feeling/need to stop any of this you shouldnt go ahead and bash legit streamers of gambling but instead should root for governments outright banning gambling altogether.

Streamers are not the root problem if you view it as such, but the core itself which is gambling. As long as gambling in generell is not prohibited, imo streamers shouldnt be either unless theyre obviously hard misleading and playing pretentionfunds. If you disagree im open to hear your statement on it!

True but that is an uphill fight that will take decades still. To be fair i don't think it's a fight that can be won, not in a capitalistic world. The reveneus are to big.

So what can we do in the meantime?

The problem is that people do things before informing themselves etc etc. i take really heavy care to explain that normal gameplay doesnt include streamer bonuses or special bonus terms and all such. Streams as personally we do them today on my channel just arent possible 5-6 times (twice a day) per week without these conditions. I honestly stress this alot, and some people will still go ahead without reading terms or information, leading to these troubles.

It IS a combination of casino regulations not tight enough regarding bonus rules, and blocking wrong plays as in restricted slots or too high stakes. optimally every casino would be forced to prohibit playing those games/stakes with bonus balance so that the terms cannot be broken but unfortunately this is far from reality at the moment. I get where you are coming from, but this is what it is as of now!

I think its a neverending story of this kind, but i try to inform people as much as possible when they ask questions or when i do something like bonus buys on bonus balance. The best advice to everyone is to always read bonus terms in full and know what you can or cant do, wherever you take bonuses

It is neverending story but until the regulations are in place in my opinion streamers (espec. popular ones with a big viewing) should take the responsibility to inform there watchers. People don't read small print and they probaly never will. Why this is the case is beyond my understanding but i'm pretty sure we can find some research papers on the subject.

Respect for informing your viewers though. That's taking your responsibility imo.

It's not as simple as that. You have psychology to consider and you have no control on who is watching. It could be 12 year olds and there brains work a bit different then an adults brain.

Yet here alot of streamers magicly do not have to adhere to these rules. They can buy bonuses as much as they want with there deposit bonusses. Again all of you are creating a false sense of reality and should be regulated and/or banned.

It's normal on every casino for average joe. Yes people should read the small print but in real life nobody reads the small print.

Something doesn't add up with finances either. Reading his Twitter feed he said years ago he had nothing, worked at Vodafone, now he boasts in the last month buying a house outright, purchasing £10,000 box packs of Pokemon.

If he is paying corporation tax, personal taxes/PAYE, a content editor, Gregg his YT editor, Jordan's percentage and other monthly outgoings he must be make a lot more than we all think.

Depending on how he plans on paying for that house. He could get a mortgage but you will need to hand over your source of wealth either through a job or own company income. Paying it outright with cash means you need to file where you gotten that cash from. Either way if your gambling this will come on the table and financial institutes don't take gambling easy. Most of the time if not all they won't work with you as your a risk, probaly the highest risk there is.

Its different in Canada or  the US.

In the UK you pay tax on profit and you cannot write of gambling as a business expense.

Essentially betting is ‘tax-free’ in the UK – the professional gambler is outside the scope of tax. This is confirmed in HMRC’s Business Income Manual at BIM22015. The basic position is that betting and gambling, as such, do not constitute trading. This is not a new precedent either.

Aye sorry that i forgot to mention but it's the same here. You pay taxes over the profit. Each year when you file in your tax whether personal or as a company you need to fill in the amount you earned through gambling. Eg lottery, slots and you name it. Anything not "Holland Casino" related as Holland Casino pays the taxes since it's goverment owned.

That is 1 route you can take in order to trick the tax agency. He has to control his cash stream on his bank account and make sure it does not go over ~23k (i think) as if it does you get flagged in the system.

No matter how you put it for the law he is commiting fraud then. Pretty stupid if your face is on the internet.

The casino streaming world has went from regular players having a bit of fun to completely out of touch with reality.

I would love to see how much streamers like Daskelele, David Labowsky and Spintwix deposit per year.  Must be absolutely insane.  These guys are on an average of 10-20 euros per spin.

The mere fact that David and Spintwix tell everyone that as a dutch citizen they don't have to pay taxes over there winnings proves for me there fake as fuck and that there not cashing out anything. In Holland you have to pay taxes over any winnings above ~500 euro. If you don't you commit tax fraud and our tax agency is ruthless. Nobody in his right mind (especially with your face all over the internet) commits tax fraud in Holland. To pull that off you need to be smart as fuck or have high placed friends.

On top of that if you watch there video's and streams they magicly manage to win 90% of the time while slowly raising stakes to unrealistic ammounts.

casinos sportsFake Money & UKGC Ban on Twitch Streamers

Whether it's 'fake' money or a casino sponsoring the deposit or a unlimited amount of 200% bonusses it's all wrong as it creates a false reality. Streamers that have a large amount of viewers are indirectly influencing people. Even if the amount of people watching the streams is low you still are promoting an activity that has a extreme high change of addiction. As a streamers and as a proffesional you should take the responsability of informing these people of all the risks involved. A few simple links just does not do it as your not showing the full picture.

Streamers can do what they do because of the bonus deals they have with the casino's something a average joe will never get. There in essence playing with casino money. This entire scheme should be constantly explained up till the finer detail via word and via writing.

I personally still can't believe platforms like youtube and twitch allow promoting destructive behaviour as no matter how you put it gambling is a destructive activity. History, healthcare and psychology has already proven that. On top of that gambling addictions are on the extreme rise the last few years and will continue to rise especially in these corona times. Slowly it's becoming a strain on healthcare. I'm directly connected to healtcare institutes and the average waiting times for gambling addiction therapy is now up to 90 days! 90 days! Tha's enough time for someone to complely wrech his entire live.

Streamers, communities like casino grounds should be aware of this and help in anyway they can. They don't because they really don't give a flying fuck. It's that simple.

Spintwix has said many times on his stream he only pays taxes what he has in his account at end of year, Dont know if this true or not but he has said this.

Prob why he bought 2 rolexes instead of one over 10k each

A physical letter lol?

What kind of card is it? A visa, mastercard? The 2k is without verification. After the 2k they do extra checks but a physical letter sounds absurd.
