Swedish gaming giant NetEnt recently announced their intention to release their first slot with an optional ‘Buy-a-Bonus’ feature.
Released on 23rd January, ‘Serengeti Kings’ will give players the option to buy straight into the game’s free spins feature at three different levels.
Serengeti Kings base game features are centred around collecting Lion and Panther symbols which, at a certain point are then scattered independently across the board to hopefully create wins. The free spins game merges both base game features (Lion Spins and Panther Spins), scattering both sets of collected high-paying symbols across the board upon completion of 12 free spins*
The price to buy into the free spins will be determined by how many Lion and Panther symbols the player wishes to start with. The entry-level costs 58.7x the bet and the player starts with zero symbols and has 12 spins to collect them.
In order to comply with all jurisdictions, operators will be given the choice to either enable or disable the Buy Free Spins functionality. For example, the UKGC (United Kingdom Gambling Commission) does not permit slots with Buy a Bonus features, therefore any UK operator wishing to roll out Serengeti Kings would require the functionality to be disabled.
