Fake streamers

It is commonly know streamers make their money as affiliates.  Nothing wrong with that.

I am not saying streamers are fake.

But today I accidently stumbled into a very famous Casino streamer. I don't know if this streamer is connected to casinogrounds. But I do know they operate from Sweden. Southern part to be exact. (No it is not letsgiveitaspin)

And to my suprize this streamer was playing on a casino without a Swedish License. And as far as I know it is not possible to play at casinos from Sweden that doesn't have a swedish license.

So please correct me if I am wrong.

But personally I, just for fun and to prove a point, tried to make a deposit to this casino. I tried skrill and my swedish Mastercard. No it was not possible to deposit.

So obviously this raise the question. Are really streamers honest?? Are they really willing to risk their own money?? Do they have special deals with the casinos they play on and promote?? Is their gambling real?

Gambling will always be a really bad investment when the Casino always have a edge towards the player. And for me it seems a little crazy to be willing to bet thousands of kronor and sometimes even Euro''s just to get people to sign up and earn you affiliate money.

If you have 20% commission  from your signup's wich was standard when I was a active casino affiliate back in the days. You need to have at least a minimum of 100K deposits from your signups when you lose 20K on stream and they also need to lose.

So I is understandable if srreamers don't use their own money

You are wrong, people from sweden can play on casinos without swedish license.

Like I say please correct me if I am wrong. And I stand corrected. But how did you manage to deposit?? And did you manage to withdraw??

If I understand correctly it should be impossible to deposit from Sweden to any casino without license.

I tried a few but not succeeded.

Very interesting how you guys did manage to deposit

I guess you are talking about Casinodaddy and Bonkersbet?

I will try to make it short but in the end it will be a long post since there is so much information to write about. I have been in contact with the Swedish Gambling Association known as SpelInspektionen both thrue phone and email, @LetsGiveItASpin has also read the emails and can confirm what im writing is legit. To begin with this law/regulation is so fresh that even the people behind it do not fully understand what it means. Basically casinos that want to operate in Sweden do have to apply and pay for a Swedish license. If granted the license, the casino can only offer SEK as currency, they have to pay tax in Sweden, only 1 deposit bonus per customer and so one, the list can be made long. But it is NOT against the law for us players to play at a casino that does not have a Swedish license as long the casino is not targeting the Swedish market. This means that the casino can’t offer you to play in SEK, or in any way contact you or promote the casino in Sweden.

But still i have to state that this is a grey area.. My contact at LotterInspektionen stated that there has not been any case yet that has gone to trial, so we basically don’t know yet what is wrong and right from the Swedish law. My contact also stated that if we play at a casino without a Swedish license that we have to pay tax, but she also stated that she was not sure about this and that i had to contact Skatteverket (IRS) for more information.

I contacted the Swedish IRS, and we don’t have to pay tax on winnings playing on a casino that does not have a Swedish license as long as the casino is operating in the EU. There is a EU-Union ruling stating that wins in the EU are taxfree.

Here is a quote from Skatteverket:

”Exempel 3

https://www.skatteverket.se/privat/skatter/internationellt/deklarerainkomsterfranutlandet/deklarerapokervinster.4.133ff59513d6f9ee2eb5465.html

As you see this became a very long post, i could easily have written more about it since there is so much more information you need to know before understanding the new Swedish regulation. When i presented this fact to the LotteriInspektionen they honestly did not know what to answer. She said ” Well there have not been any cases (YET) that have made it to the Swedish court, and we do not now the outcome of it”. She also added that if you play at a Casino with a Swedish license, then you are contributing to the Swedish welthfare since the casino has to pay tax in Sweden, and if you get in trouble with a casino then the Spelinspektionen can help you.

If it is morally right for Swedish streamers to stream from a Casino that does not have a Swedish license? Well that is something you have to decide yourself.

I still have to raise a finger about this, there are so many shitty casinos out there, what if you deposit on a casino that does not have a Swedish license, you win big and want to make a withdrawal, and suddenly they confiscate your winnings and tell you since you are from Sweden you should have not been able to play here at all... What do you do then?

Peace Out!

Thank you YugoSlavish very informative answer.

I totally have misunderstood this new rules. But as far as I Know it is much problems depositing at these casinos. Skrill did not work even if I have uploaded money to skrill with a gambling intent. And my Mastercard issued from swedish bank have been declined ( yes I had money in accound). Bank transfer might be possible but it takes a few day's so I don't have tried that.

I know when i talked with Spelinspektionen that they stated that they are trying to make banks to block deposits at Casinos that do not have a Swedish license.. If it’s because of this you can’t deposit, i have no clue. But i have experienced the same thing, but from a Casinos point of view. I am a sucker for Merkur and Gamomat, my top providers. I have a account at EnergyCasino which i used to play at, they did not get a Swedish license, i tried to make a deposit there, but i could not, it said that i can’t make deposits to this site from Sweden.

I am not saying that Bonkersbet is not serious, i have never played there, but maybe there are sites that simply respect the Swedish regulation and don’t accept players from Sweden and some sites don’t actually give a fudge?

Like @Yug0Slavish said, you can still play on all casinos that themselves are open to Swedish players... BUT

  • You risk winnings, as they could potentially close operation at any time for Sweden (just because the casino doesn't have a Swedish license, doesn't mean they won't apply for one in the future. It would badly damage the chances of obtaining one, IF they offered gambling services to Sweden without.the proper license)
  • You might need to tax your winnings (if like stated above, casino operates outside EU) (Bonkersbet was mentioned in this thread, they operate under Curacao license and unless the winnings are paid from within the EU, then you need to tax it)
  • Blocked withdrawal/deposit methods.
  • Currency converison (have to play in €) (Think this is overlooked quite a lot. Remember you are buying € and if you win then you're selling €. Selling € is never a good exchange rate. Just as an example, when I played at Casumo (when it was still €), I put in €100 and cashed out 300. I payed over 1000SEK for the €100 but got 2800SEK when I withdrew €300.)

To sum it up, there are just too many drawbacks, to justify NOT choosing a Swedish licensed casino. Once Spelinspektionen know what the hell they themselves are talking about (not surprised they are confused about their own rules, because some of them are very vague and not very precise), it will be easier for us and the casinos to know what's allowed and what's not.

I think we all know that CasinoDaddy are scammass.

1) Who on earth would do 24 hours a day 7 days a week live stream on real money ? The answer is NO ONE (even if they own the casino they wont)

2) The guys claim to have business that earns them money however they have NEVER reviled the name of their business nor any information about their income. And come on, what ever business you might have, you can not have income over 20.000 Pound per day to afford to deposit on casinos.

3) They had Jesus as their pall on stream and they were presenting him as their brother from another mother, however, within 6 months they sacked hi (or should I say he left them as he was sick of playing cartoons 24/7 with no profit.

4) They promise prices.... gifts.. and even do competitions, but no one have come forward to say they have ever received their price (apart from their fake accounts who react like they are fans.

And the list goes ON AND ON AND ON.

Now lets move on as we all know Casinodaddy is nothing but Scamass fake shit daddy

It is very common for Casino's to offer streamers accounts preloaded with money, but with deposits and withdrawals disabled. I've been offered the same and I only have a very small YouTube channel (I kindly refused the offer, in case you were wondering, because it's not fun for me and viewers would eventually find out).

But I'm a low stake hobby gambler who runs the channel on the side. I can see why people who do this full time may be tempted in order to drive some risk free revenue.

I'd be careful using the word "common" without having the evidence to back it up. It's known to happen, yes (mostly by shady operators) but it's still merely a whisper that no one really talks about out loud.

I'm sitting here waiting for the day when those idiots (streamers and shortsighted marketing managers) who thinks this is "risk-free" will be slammed hard - as it's false advertising. Once this practice gains enough traction - the "Big Guns" in diff. Governments come out to play, and they know how to do a slam dunk when it comes to removing vermin.

We've written a great post on the subject of this topic: Twitch: Fake Streamers and Viewbots. Here's a quote from that article touching on the very practice

Quote

When it comes to “The Bad” we’re talking about streamers and operators who bend the rules to boost their standing. They may not be flat-out cheating, but they are certainly not acting in the best interests of those watching. Examples of this would include streamers using play money to gamble and passing it off as real.

Even worse is when an unlicensed casino colludes with a streamer to fool the viewers into thinking they’re playing for real money. Such sites have been known to pay streamers to play on their site or provide fake money for them to do so. The streamer might then play for high stakes to lure in viewers when in fact they’re risking nothing.

It is common though, and it isn't really whispered about. Casino's will offer it, but actually they don't really recommend it. As I said, I've had it offered to me, but the Casino in question said 'We can offer this, but it's not the best way'. It's just a thing that they offer if people want to do it. And i'm sure some people do do it. Casino's prefer to offer augments to real money deposits (deposit bonuses, free spins etc) as they know that drives more traffic through their affiliates.

I remember Nick saying on one of his streams that he gets an email every single day from Casino's offering him preloaded accounts, so yeh, it's common, and not a secret. It's more shady when the Streamer tries to pass it off as real play, as opposed to the Casino offering it. At the end of the day, it's a tool. It's how the tool is used that is the problem.

I can see you like to use the word Bull***t ,to which in psychological terms the word is used from someone who is mad and I am not even going to force my self trying to find out why are you mad about our conversation and our experiences. The points I have stated there are my own view and not a statement, therefore I cant understand why you are so mad about it !?  I dont know if you are apologising for your English language (meaning that is not your first language or your English meaning for using words that are not used in normal conversations but what ever you meant, you are forgiven. Have a great life and enjoy watching them :)

Umm... CasinoDaddy is absolutely real. They just have some dodgy casinos on their site, but they're absolutely real.
Their affiliate company is called Joelsson Media Group AB, and Erik Axel Joelsson is the CEO (Ebro).
They had a revenue of 46 million SEK last year (4.6 million Euros)

Oh yeah, and I'm Asle Martinsen on YouTube. I'm one of their moderators. These links cant be faked by the way

well in my opinion.

idc who they are.

if they are using free play or offers containing money that is not withdrawable.

i just dont think it is right not only for them to generate money from affiliate links, subs and especially not through their followers.

it is not only unfair on them but it is also unfair on those of us that spend thousands and thousands of dollars per year trying to build our reps and channels up on live streams.

my problem also is, if i 100% know whose doing it.

ill let our followers know

because they let me know and show links to their proof

i got no shame in it either because i think all casino streamers (when asked) shouldn't be insta-banning their members when the member says can you prove your deposits and withdrawals,

id prefer that streamer just told me straight that its free play because if i liked them just as a normal streamer its not going to make a difference to me unless i find out otherwise.

my post is not made to offend anyone. this is just how it is for me.
