Our autospin hating beloved UKGC have wonderous plans for creating an industry wide self exclusion scheme, much of the documentation is as dull an technocratic as plenary in Strasbourg or Brussels EU parliaments but i believe its indeed forcing the casinos to share exclusions between each other so an exclusion on one means an exclusion on all.

So i'm guessing a rage exclusion could be very costly indeed to anyone gambling (genuine exclusions for problem gambling I fully support and have no negative attitude towards).

I however think the UKGC need to worry about betting adverts on British TV every 5 seconds rather than this.

Yeah I heard about this months ago. It can be a good thing since if you decide to self-exclude you probably did that for a reason. I'm more interested in how are they going to implement this since it will require Casinos to share personal data with each other? I'm pretty sure that will be a big issue.

Good for those that have genuine gambling problems. If it works OK then self excluding at one casino would mean you are automatically self excluded at others I guess.

But I can also foresee problems. I can foresee you asking for an account to be closed because you no longer want to play at a particular casino and that this is wrongly interpreted as self exclusion and voila, before you know you can't play anywhere else and you end up having to try to reopen accounts, perhaps to no avail.

Yep thats the way i see things I'm all for genuine way of helping people who have issues but you are gonna be having issues when you ask to close an account as you said but they self exclude you when its more the case you just want to shut it.

Very good idea IMO, something which I will be pushing further through the UKGC user group.

Let's hope that they don't backtrack in the months to come.

I just see it a touch draconian they should focus on stop letting there be gambling adverts littering UK television and Bookies on every street corner than this.

As ExSlotplayer says they are gonna misinterpret people sending emails asking to close an account do to non gambling reasons as self exclusion.

I once waited 28 days for a cash out at a casino once they kept on messing about then put the money back on the wrong account I asked them to, i was livid dealing with them and asked after the money was in my account to close it as i never wanted to play there again, if thats the terms of self exclusion then its fundamentally flawed. That's in no way related to any sort of gambling issue but a customer service one.
