It's time to quit

Ok, so yeah, as the title says, it's time to quit.

I've been gambling on and of for a few years now, not that much to be honest, sometimes it could easily go 6 months without visiting a casino, sometimes a bit more regular.

I've never been gambling for any huge amount of money, before the last few months (at least it's huge for me)

So I'm gonna go with a short story about what's been going on for the last few months, hopefully this might help a few others, as I find it inspirational to read others stories myself.

It all started out this fall when I lost my job due to a big downturn in the industry I was working in, I had no job and the money was starting to run out, not because I was gambling, but due to bills, food, rents and so on.

I was down to my last 200 pounds or something on my bank account and christmas was coming up soon, I said fuck it, I'm gonna be broke soon anyways, I'll deposit it and see if I can win anything.

And hey, what happened, I won 3000 pounds on dead or alive, I was very happy with it, cashed it out and started playing more maybe a week after, and I actually kept winning, gamblingwise, december was the most ridiculous month I've ever had. I won on almost everything, and of course, bets got higher and so did the deposits. Anyways, my winnings gave me a nice christmas, got to buy gifts to people, got drunk a lot, went out on new years eve and all that stuff that you normally do in these holidays.

Not far into January hell broke loose and I couldn't win on anything, managed to take a small break, then played again a week after and had an amazing hit again, cashed out, and of course, now I've lost some of it again, but today I finally decided to close all my accounts on the casino's that I normally play on. Of course, there's always another casino to register on if you get the "gambling rush" as I call it, but I'm getting a bit bored of slots tbh, and considering the fact that I still haven't managed to get a job and I've basically been living of slots for the last 2 months, I think it's time to leave and be happy with that.

So yeah, long story short, lost my job, been living of slots, really think It's about time that I quit, and now I quit :)

And thanks to all of you that's gotten in much deeper shit with gambling than I have, I appreciate you guys sharing your stories, it helps me when i read how bad it can end, and now I've decided to quit before it gets to bad.

I'll probably still be lurking on here and on different streams though :)

Beenji, good call mate & well done for making the decision.

I'm going through a similar thing at the minute too, I've caved in once since I quit, but never again, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too, keep us posted with how it goes & if you do slip like I did don't write yourself off, slap yourself around mentally a bit and reset...

Thinking about it we should design one of these for quitting gambling.....

Quitting while ahead Beenji, nice. Focus on getting a new job, meanwhile keep away from all gambling related stuff. It's nice to hear you get inspiration here from other people as well and it certainly needs a strong will to write such a story and stick to it. I wish you all the best mate!

So everyone did as I requested and closed my account except for Rizk, they suddenly sent me a message saying I have free spins and double speed available, so I got curious if they actually deleted my account as they said, tried to log in and got up a message that my account is just on pause and will be available again in 2 days, lol

I'm having the same issue with Rizk actually....

I very specifically asked for my account to be deleted, but they chose to put me on self exclusion instead and continue to batter me with junk mail..... very helpful....

I can understand they aren't keen for people to leave, but when it's a clear request and you're trying to quit it doesn't make life easy..... I don't know exclusion period they put me on so I've just set all mail from them to auto delete and blocked the payment details I used for their site....

I found out by trying to log in as I was curious if they actually closed my account, all I got was a message saying that my account is on pause for 2 more days, so it will be 7 days in total.

I'm guessing it's the same for you.

Won't make a big deal out of it anyways, think I'll just keep my account at rizk incase I want to gamble again in the future as I'm able to get a few advantages due to my high level and I've also got bonuses unlocked on different slots.

Oh, thanks for the heads up Kim, I wont mention any gambling problems as I dont want to be banned forever :)

I need to get a job again, gambling is not good when I basically have no income, and I also think it's for my own good to take a longer break and calm down with the gambling a bit, my addiction exploded over the last two months due to my big winnings lol.

The thing about rizk is that their loyalty cordinators has contacted me several times to give me bonuses and so on, they also said that if there was anything at all they could help me with, I could just send them an mail, and due to a few incidents with the customer support chat where they've been to no help at all in the past I decided to just send a mail directly to the loyalty cordinators mail instead, and I was very clear about the fact that I'm not interested in gambling anymore, and therefore I want to delete all my accounts. But they still just put it on pause for some reason, and they kept sending me offers om my mobile phone during my pause.

If anyone is interested in the outcome of this, I did play a little bit every now and then as i reopened a few accounts, but not for any huge amounts of money.
I've also gotten myself a job, but after being unemployed for a period and knowing how shite it is to not have any income it just feels stupid to keep on gambling, I'm basically paying money so I can lose my money that I worked for, so I've closed all of my accounts that I had left, told the customer support that I have a massive gambling addiction (Which I dont feel like I have) so they closed my accounts for good. I dont feel like it's necessary to close them as I can stay away, but I tend to get blackout drunk every now and then, so just to be safe I told them that I have a massive addiction so they would close it down.

Cheers and good luck to all of you out there trying to quit.

Time to name and shame!

Just got a phone call from the casino "Vera & John" where they promoted a few campaigns and even started throwing bonuses at me, this happened even though I've closed my account "due to gambling addiction" at their site.

Guess this just goes out to show how careless some of these casino's are.
